Wheeltronics is a very good lift, they used to make the Snap-On lifts.
I have two of the 2 post lifts and love them.
I had to have my floor re poured for one of them because I tried to go cheap on my second one with a "Budget" non ALI certified lift.
After the second time it tried to kill me, I put in another Wheeltronics, but we had to do the floor because the mounting holes were different.

A couple of things, make sure the safety release is a single point release and is located at the same place the pump controls are.
Make sure it is ALI certified.

The 2 post is a lot more versatile than the four post, almost every pro wrench uses a 2 post.
The four posts are quicker to get a car up in the air and are better for muffler and some other center of the car only type work.

I store cars under a two post all the time, just make sure the one on top does not leak anything.

Now for the warning, if you ever start using a good lift, you will never willingly work on your back again.

The only negative to a two post is the need for height over the posts and for a reasonably heavy concrete floor to bolt it to. The drive on 4 poster is really only efficient for storage. The ramps are always in the way !!! The big old one poster hydraulic lifts had the same problem when you worked on driveshafts exhaust etc. The asymetrical two post lift is vastly better in my opinion having worked with all three styles as well as in the dirt

Well, since we've high-jacked dutchcrunch's group buy thread, I'll add I went with a 4-poster primarily because they are about 2-3 feet narrower than a 2-poster. A 2-poster would have resulted in no clearance between vehicles in our garage.

I've had this one for 3 years or so and have been very satisfied with it. I bought the accessory sliding hydraulic jack so I can get the wheels off the deck. There are a raft of almost identical "hobby" lifts available. These guys had the best price and were easy to deal with.

Assembly is a chore - the lift weighs a ton. The ramps are over 500 lbs each. Residential delivery is a problem unless you have a forklift to off-load the lift. I picked it up from the local shipping dock with a U-Haul open trailer. They loaded it on. I had to break it down to off-load it a piece at a time, which was still a challenge due to the weight of some parts. Despite my 8-foot celings, which limit the lift, I am real happy with it. I sit on low, rolling stools and can reach everything underneath.

I have the Mohawk asymetrical two-post lift and I'm very happy with it.

My brother has a Bend-Pak two post "low-ceiling" ceiling lift (purchased before I purchased mine). Although he is happy with the Bend-Pak, my brother likes the one I have a little bit more as the mechanical locks begin egagement a few inches off the floor vs. the Bend-Pak which begin enagement 18" - 24" off the floor.

Also, another significant difference between the lifts is the method of "equalization" between the lift rams in the posts. The Bend-Pak uses cables; the Mohawk uses hydraulics.

Regardless of which one you choose and after using it for awhile, you'll wonder why you didn't purchase it sooner.

Mohawk is a very good lift, I also prefer the hydraulics for equalization.

Last Sunday while I was crawling around under the old very brown 1980 changing a noisey rear axle with no air tools or lift I kept thnk about the lift at 928 International and how much stuff I would need to move to get the car on it But I spent some quality time at home with the wife and dogs ! So Friday night I head for the track for the weekend. Now THAT IS quality time

Based solely on appearences, I'd have to agree- I don't get the warm - fuzzies looking at that steel tubing in cross- section- seems rather light gauge.

Yep, that's identical to mine with the exception that I got plastic drip trays. I think these are all made in the same plant in China. EDIT: Actually, I think the new Greg Smith one is better than the one you are considering (look at locking system information) and should be the same deal price.

Isnt it crazy that they can build that massive thing, and ship it all the way from China and still have a retail price of around $1500. Something ain't right over there, but i cant complain, if it wasn't chinese made i would never consider owning one

Sad but true. Hey, you might want to look at the Greg Smith one. They have made some significant improvements, especially to the locking system. The one you are looking at is external blocks, welded on. That's what I have, but Greg Smith has changed to an internal window channel that is inherently more secure. I haven't had any trouble with mine, but I am VERY careful to make sure everything is perfectly engaged.

I have had this exact one from these guys for 3 years now. I store one 928 on the lift and park the other underneath it.

My floor is just 4" thick and have even had my F150 on it.

Crap they are even cheaper than when I bought it. I think I am going to get a second one......

Installed it myself (one person to help lift the posts into standing position) in one day.

My ceilings are 9'6" and it fits no problem.

Won't live without a lift ever again.

No way. I've found the drive on type for less than that. Do the home work.
