I joined the Austin gathering Saturday and James was kind enough to invite us out to his place afterwards. Got to see the "Last 928" wrap in person, very impressive, love the green/purple engine! I think a speed yellow wrap should be next on his list.

No stalking going on, just chance encounters where 928 owners run across this car out in public and snap a pic. I thought it was kindof fun to post the pics and keep the legend alive.

Looks like Google Earth has new images of the Katy area from February 2014. From there I Streetview'd the BP garage on the south side of I-10 by Hwy 6 - got 'nuthin. Carter, you scan the target neighborhoods on Google Earth and report back! We'll find this shark yet.

Yeah, I don't think this is really stalking either. The fellow just happens to have one of the most interesting GTS' out there. I love 928s in non-metallic colors, and the only cars you can really find fitting that description are black, red and white. I think that car is really beautiful.

Anecdotally, before I bought mine, I had been looking for a light blue (not metallic) 928. I was so convinced by the maintenance records on the car I bought it (which meant settling for red). The fellow who had been working on the car told me, could didn't wait that blue color because there only like 5 in the US in that color...

So, it just shows you how rare and interesting the car is to some people. Yeah, so we talk about it.

Unless his bank acct mirrors Bill Gates' or he's a die hard Shark fan, Willhoit just didn't offer him enough $$$, cause everything has its price. Judging from number of sightings verifying he drives the car, and how James described the general condition of the car when he saw it in person, it doesn't sound like he babies it, least in keeping it clean. Especially if it was dirty while participating in a PCA function. So that seems to indicate he's not about keeping it for his love of it being a rare shark anyways. Maybe he just is familiar with it, likes it, and money is not a great motivator in his life.
