See if the dealer will allow you to put money down via credit card on the car to hold it for you until Saturday when you will have a chance to do your due diligence and get a ppi. That way the car flippers won't ****** it from under you and you could dispute the charges if the dealer didn't cancel the charge as agreed upon. Looks like a good deal on a nice car, for that price I wouldn't nit-pick, unless there was a thrust bearing issue or something major, which a ppi would uncover.
Car flippers bug me because they actually deflate the value of these cars as a whole since it adds extra 'owners' to the history, they often do cheap paint and half-assed fixes which hurts in the long run and the original documentation and paperwork tends to get lost during these flips.

Please let us know how this turns out. I saw this car the day it was posted on CL and seriously thought about it for about 30 sec. then I realized I already have one that I don't get to drive enough (and only one garage spot)!

You can try calling Wicky Lawrie at Renntag Motorwerks in Nashville. 615-226-4928. He is a certified Porsche mechanic formerly of Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville, and formerly of Bloodworth Motorsports in Nashville. About 5 or 6 years ago, he opened his own shop here. He is well regarded here. He's been my personal mechanic for 5 years, and he knows 928's well.
With the holiday and all coming up this weekend, it might be kind of tough getting a last-minute appt, but give him a call.
I hope it works out for you. That is a nice looking car. PM me if I can help further.
