Hello DFW guys
I had thought one of you would post a thread but since i haven't seen one and I have no idea where i am going and what i should bring i guess the guy from Austin will start it. I hope I get some answers I do have a few questions.
Like:
What should i bring if anything? Should i bring some extra tools? I was planning on bring my set of 4 large jack stands for anyone that may want to use them thats planning on doing work to their car. Should I bring these or any other tools or are all the cars that are scheduled for work already covered in that area?
Roger, will you be there? Could i trouble you to bring your Hammer if so to run on my car and see if we find any trouble codes?
Directions, or Address actually, and a time to show up? Sean, you can PM me if you dont want this posted, i just have no idea where i'm going and at what time to be there.
Also, is there anyone else from Austin thats planning on driving up tomorrow morning? A small caravan would be cool if i'm not the only one driving up. I would imagine you guys are meeting at 8 8:30 based on the meet time from 2 weeks ago. That would have me setting off at about 5am, shouldn't be any damn traffic at that hour!
If anyone wants to try and ride up from Austin together let me know on here or through PM or e-mail. ryanperrella@gmail.com
See ya tomorrow!

Sent you a PM with the info, which you have already read. If you have any other people coming up, pass the info along.
Tools, j-stands are good, the only tools you need for this are 22mm wrench, 22mm sockets, 19mm sockets, 17mm sockets. I have everything, but extras won't hurt. Oh, if you have a 7mm wrench, we could use one because in all my sets, there's not ONE SINGLE 7MM.....idiots at craftsman.
Just bring whatever you think you might need, I'm sure we have it, or can get it if it's not available, or you didn't bring it.
Oh, do you have a Hydraulic shop press? LOL, I need to buy one.
Here's some pics of the progress.
wholly chit this camera sucks. blurry. sorry

Nevermind on the press, I'm going to Northern tool 1st thing in the morning and picking one up. No need to make Roger pack his up and bring it when I will use one multiple times.

What do you need the 7mm for? To hold the top part of the shock piston? I have a 7mm and will bring it, but the 7mm, just barely holds the piston and can end up stripping it. I actually saw a tool at O'Reillys made just for this, which may or may not work better. The 7mm works, but its not very tight and you really have to put so much torque on that nut, i think its 33ft/lbs that the small 7mm wont hold it and it can strip the slot that it goes into and bugger it up if your not extra careful. Something to consider, assuming of course thats what you want the 7mm for.

Roger's coming right? I have something i want to give him, and if he doesn't chime in here and you talk to him Sean, ask him if he wouldn't mind bringing his Hammer. The Bosch electronic diagnosing Hammer, not the one you bang stuff with.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

Just an update.
We have John (soontobered) Justin(who), Ed(shifter), Roger(Rock Star), Ryan(Parrella), Mike(Mutant), Anglea and her 11 year old working on 4 cars.
Mine ('88) is 1/2 way done with Eibachs and Boges, Ang's ('90) is getting new Boges. Johns is getting new Koni's and Ryans is just getting an adjustment.
Here's some pics.
