Default Update?

Is there an update on this thread? The reason why I am asking is that I am curious about what you and UPS ended up doing about the pistons. Did you get custom pistons or new stock pistons?

Redoing the Nikasil process can fix a lot of issues, so I am not worried about your block.

The pistons were replaced, and the block was corrected.

Good to know. There's a lot of complaining on the board about vendors not doing the right thing (including by me recently). I think it would be useful if people would also follow up on the topic when the vendor does the right thing and fixes the issues. Usually, one learns much more about a vendor when there is a problem than when everything is smooth. It's good to know that US Chrome did the right thing, which I expected. UPS replacing the pistons without any push back was a bit more surprising to me.

Be sure to use the correct rings for Nikasil. I bought a 944 Turbo that had Nikasil. The installer mistakenly used stock rings and at 20,000 miles the Nikasil started getting chunked off at the tops of the cylinders.
