Greg I think I was mistaken about the "Project 928" articles by Kim Crumb they were in Panorama and detailed a very comprehensive buildup modification of an 85 Euro 5 speed in which he did many many things including an "update" to S-4 looks. It featured lots and lots of changes , track events etc. over several issues as I recall. You mentioned that you are a freelance writer which means that you sell your finished articles (my Daughter does this as well ) . Good luck with your quest.

Shaynes perhaps a more accurate description is a freelance writer who hopes to sell the article to Excellence is coming to see you. I hope all goes well and you do get some press. The 928 by numbers is what maybe 2% of all the Porsche cars ever made ? So we deserve 2 out of every 100 pages of text in Excellence and there is not all that much text Also worth noting that 928 advertising revenue for Excellence is next to nothing....we did run larger adds several years ago but with such low returns that it made little sense to continue. DEVEK ran adds as well ...

FWIW, I actually found you guys thru your little ad in the back of Excellence and began ordering stuff - before I found this forum.

Darn, it sounds like my euro may not be famous after all. O well, didn't want to count on that deal anyway, so it's posted For Sale for all to see and on Craigslist as well. I'm actually hoping someone local will pick it up so they can see it in person first and so I can get a ride after they fix it up!

Article on shaynes' 928s is assigned and a go. They are lovely. Also have an article on Ott's hot rod in the next issue, and a 928 DIY coupler sometime after that.

Oddly enough, my first drive in a 928 came in a two-valve car at 928 International not so different to the one shaynes just picked up. Mark picked it up from an older gentleman and it was very fun to drive, even with 4.5 liters, probably due to the 5spd.

Sympathize with the 928-specific ad revenue, but also note that those ads got you exposure which can be hard to measure directly (as evidenced by the post above). Nonetheless, I can see how many 928ers would only subscribe to Excellence if they are as much (or more) Porsche enthusiasts as 928 enthusiasts.

As for Greg as a noob, well, we've all been there and it's not a bad place to be. The guy has proven himself capable in several articles...

Naw, no worries, and actually helpful to help demonstrate we do care about 928s, and haven't forgotten them.

Also like to underline Greg's RB 928 story, which was a great one, as well as those who have taken up the pen for the 928 in the past, from stories on the Daytona 24-hour car and Kibort's car to the Thomas flyer and the various 928 protos. I still remember Mr. Anderson's race car, and a brief drive in a 6.5-liter 928...with a school-bus-sized tailpipe. By far the strongest, torque-iest NA Porsche I've driven to date, C-GT included.

There are a lot of great 928 stories that have been told, and more that haven't. I'll renew my request to authors to find them, but am always open to suggestions...
