No affiliation but it appears this might be a good deal.

I looked at it. It appears to be a car that was not messed with and was stored indoors until recently. The interior was fine, just needed detailing and not much of that. No warping of the rear quarter panel liners, no dash or pod cracks, no warping of the A-pillars where they meet the dash and no warping of the center console wings. Driver seat bolster was fine as well as the other seat surfaces. Carpets and other panels looked fine. Everything looked original except the steering wheel (a plus) and the headunit. The exterior looked good with the exception that the front right fender bead was popped out of the seam. I suppose the front bumper could have been off, but it was not obviously painted and I could not see any panel alignment issues or other clues of a wreck. There is a scratch on the right corner of the bumper cover that looks like it could buff out. I didn't look real closely at the paint, but it looks original and the clear is not blistering or crazed. Honestly, it could be a respray, but it was not obvious to me. The paint did not have a lot of shine to it after sitting outside for a while. All tools except the tow hook were present. The spare was missing. No cargo cover or net was present.
The car started right up and ran very smoothly and quietly even though the battery was low and the digital dash flashed the firmware version for a second - happens when the battery is low. No abnormal noises at all. Actually surprised me since it was dead cold and appeared to have been sitting for weeks. I didn't drive the car, so who knows what could be wrong. The AC blew cold and the compressor was quiet. I tried almost all the electricals, and they all worked. No funky warning messages on the dash. Still had the original rear muffler, another sign it was not messed with much.
Under the hood, everything appeared to be in order and the oil was fresh looking. From sitting out under a tree at the lot recently a lot of leaves had gotten in there, but the motor will clean up easily. The bellypan was missing.
This is a very small lot you might drive by without noticing. The sales guy was new and did not know how the car was acquired. I would not expect to get any records, but I forgot to open the glovebox to see what might be in there. Figure on a timing belt, coolant flush, brake flush and tranny service as soon as you buy it.
The price seems very low. Why so is not apparent from my quickie look at it. Again, I did not have time to really examine it, but I was impressed with what I saw. So often I see obvious signs of neglect and abuse in low-priced cars. Not in this case.
Jeez, I could probably get close to $10K for my 188K mile 89. Maybe I should buy it.

For whatever it's worth, AutoCheck reports - 05/10/2007 "A wholesale Auto Auction has reported that the vehicle has frame damage, which can weaken the structure of the vehicle." Was also listed at auction 10/2007.

Well I guess that explains the price and why it has not sold, in a nutshell...

Thanks, I was just about to sign-up to check the history.

OK, that's what I was afraid of. As I mentioned in a PM to one Lister who was interested in this car, these small lots typically get their vehicles at wholesale auctions. These auctions are used by major car dealers to unload trade-ins that are not suitable form retail sale, often due to hidden damage. Too bad.
