Here is the picture story. There was a Lister with a lot of interest for whom I was examining the car, but his better half put down the law. So, it's still available.

I would like to thank Bill for taking the time to look this car over very closely. I appreciate all the time and effort he has spent, Bill is a real stand up guy and I owe him a few cold ones!

I was very interested in the car but my wife read me the riot act when I told her about it. Maybe when I get rid of a few cars my 88 being one of them, I will look again when the time is right.

From the pictures and information he has gathered the car looks like a good deal. A leakdown and TBF check would be advised.

Wow, that's about as good of a PPI as you can get without a shop visit.

Bill, you are a saint in 928-land.

Those are some mighty straight frame rails. The ones on my ex-86 looked like they had been used to sled the car down a mountain.

WOW...it looks like a bargain for someone....other than the VIN stickers missing on the front fenders it looks solid...but did you check for the VIN sticker on the bumper?? I have one on mine..... "IF" it has the original sticker on the bumper but not the fenders...they could have been lost in the repaint....I really doubt any wreck would replace both fenders but not the bumper.....

Sticker on the bumper?? Where?

Yeah, you can't really say whether the fenders were replaced or just repainted.

Thanks, Brian. Never noticed that one on my car, but I just looked and it's there as well. When I get out to look at the car again, I'll check it.

Bill
"IF" it has that sticker with the correct vin.....its highly unlikely its been in any type of serious accident....short of a bad T-bone on one side only.....but that wouldn't explain why both front fender VINS are missing? Is the stamped metal tag with the VIN still there?

if the original bumper is there.......it might be time to bargain with the dealer...I'm quite sure a strong cash offer will get the car...maybe $8-9k out the door?

I'll tell Gerry....he loves 928 bargins!

The stamped metal tag on the frame in the fender lip cutout is there.

As far as they know, I'm still very concerned about frame damage and the respray.

All the more bargining chips to play with...even if you think its fine...point out something that looks odd to an average Joe and say "looks at this bla bla bla"....that should be worth some $$$$ discounts.....
