Default Brake fluid capacity

I did a search and I could not find how much brake fluid the system will take on a full flush. The manual only mentions 0.2 liter for the reservior .

Thanks,

Perhaps 1 litre if that.

You'll need more for bleeding/flushing.

I usually use about 1.5 liters during a full flush.

Using a full color change as an indicator (gold-blue), I've used less than a can of ATE. Somehow I sucked the reservoir dry first, so there was less mixing and a more definite color change.

I ordered 1 liter of ATE blue and another of ATE gold. They have the same specs but different color. If it takes less than a liter, hurray, next time I do another flush I have the other color as an indicator. If takes more, well, I'll guess the color will be a little less blue.

That's what I do, and I have not used a full can for a flush, and I flush until the color change is complete. I use a Powerbleeder too.

For the PSD cars, it typically takes just over a 1 liter to flush both the brakes and PSD.

So you need to buy two 1 liter bottles of ATE just to flush both. Short shelf life after opening, so plenty of waste, unless you flush more frequently then every two years.

That's the best way to do it when changing the fluid. Figure a liter or a little more to do a full flush. So are you getting ready for the event next week at Talladega? I'll be there, driving a friend's 996, and I'm sure I saw your name on the entry list. We flushed Chad's brakes with ATE blue last month before he went to Roebling, and that's about what it took. BTW you gotta love it when you ask for the day off and the boss says "bring pictures."

Mark, I am changing the tranny, differential, engine and brake fluid next weekend to get ready for Talladega. I am very very excited since it will be my first time at a track. I will be posting a lot of videos depending how good the runs are...

Btw, I emailed my boss asking for a vacation day since I am going to track my 928 and she sent me back an email with the only word "approved", for the vacation day that is. lol, sometimes I feel sorry for bitter people, not saying that she is one.

Fantastic! Warning, you're going to be completely hooked and you can just banish all thought of selling your 928. I'll be co-driving the white 996, leaving the 928 at home this time. But boy am looking forward to it!

The only High Performance brake fluid I was able to find locally is Motul RBF 600. Is that a good choice over the ATE Super Blue?

Oh, yeah, my comments about volume needed are for automatics - sorry.
