New update:Tested alternator 15v on test jig not able to read current on tester. All the voltages are fine from battery to post to alternator so I am assuming my gauge is off a little.
What I was seeing as no low beams is the fog lamps coming on when I turned on the high beams. Both High and low beams are out so it must be something common to all the headlamps. I dropped the Electric panel when putting in the chips and wiring, relay is set in Ok I'm going to check the back pins. Any other place to look>

The only things common to all 4 headlamp filaments are the main light switch & the relay (and associated wiring)

I assume your pods go up & down fine so the light switch works - that leaves the relay (or its connections).

I concur thats my next avenue of attack, funny how easy it is to get off track As a post note S/C seems to be running fine I need a little more time of testing to be 100% sure a storm is heading our way so it will have to wait a little bit!

Looks like the connections are good I can't find a diagram on the headlight circuit. What is the best way to proceed?

I do have 12v on various pins on the relay and a good ground.

test the headlamps to see if your getting current to the lamps its possible that they may haver burned out bulbs, check the fuses first

Do you know where the common connector for the headlamps are after the fuse panel. With all the work I have done seems this would be a likely place to look.

Looks like the following:
Off of relay 56 a and b are the output to headlamps high and low.
Ground points are MP 1 and MP 2
Connector group O on CEB panel are 12.13.14.15 which should have 12v out to headlamps.
Going to check this now!

just pop off the headlight covers and remove the headlight connector see if your getting voltage, check the fuses

Mr Merlin: You were right both bulbs blew at the same time 80/100 H-4's

I have never seen this before here is the readings I found on the o connector.

Connector O
High beam:
12 12v
13 6 v
14 6 v
15 12v
Low Beam
12 0v
13 12v
14 12v
15 12v

I did not think the lamp would reduce the voltage like this on high beams, could this be the cause these have only a few hours on these new lamps.

I've had that problem once before. First my low beams went, then my highbeams went, leaving me with nothing but my fogs and driving lights, pretty soon I lost two of those as well.

At the time (right after installing a Andy Keel twinscrew) I was chasing every wire and connection I touched and even some I hadn't.

Finally got back to my house and tried the easy one, I swapped out the relay from my other 928. Viola!! That was it.

If you have someone close buy try swapping relays, because a new one is $100+.

I found the problem both bulbs are burned out, both low and high beams. I wonder if this is something due to using 80/100 Watt bulbs or it using 6 volts on the high beam causing an issue with this type of bulb. It's an H-4 80/100 or what could I have done to do this? Car is hardly used at night but I sure know the circuit now .

I've run 80/100 H4s for almost 7 years - zero problems with them.

Makes me wonder what happened to them, I'm not real sure I want to run out and spend $50.00 again if something caused these to blow. Has anyone measured the voltage on the fuse panel connectors and found 6 volts? Tomorrow I will measure the HL volltage.

Not to hijack your thread - but what happened? Did the intakes fix the problem?
