Same issue with the "beetles" too much weight on one end overwhelms the suspension at that end and the diagonal wheel is lifted off the ground. The 911 rear torsion bars can not be big enough so unless you convert to coil over (reinforce the shock mounts) it will when fitted with a heavy front bar lift the wheel .

Yep, got an older guy with @ '69 bug prepared just the way you state (torsion bars) here in our SCCA region. Inside front lifts at fairly low speeds.

Agreed. My '91 MR2 used to do so under high grip situations. I even have a picture of it up on two wheels briefly on a concrete surface running Hoosier R compounds.

The NASCAR guys have a real hard time with the road race set up. A friend of mine built Robby Gordon's road race car for last year. He completely redesigned the front suspension from what everyone "always used" the car was much quicker even without the best motors. His experience in F -2 also helped when they were working with the Car of Tomorrow ...splitters and leading edge rear wings... Although more weight on a tire does give more traction it is not linear and we all know the traction of a tire suspended in the air is ZERO ! You sometimes have to set up a car to handle certain corners better at the expense of other corners and the car can look and be rather awkward at times.
