Very nice finish, and I do think it looks a lot better than the dirty, yellow original one.

A couple of pics with it installed. Difficult to capture on a photo, but I hope it will at least give an idea about how it looks. First pic is with flash, 2nd without (taken handheld at 1/4s exposure time - image stabilizing isn't just a gimmick ):

Thank you Erling for the pics. As you know, I haven't yet seen them on an engine as mine has been in the shop for the past few months getting a rebuilt engine in.

It is well represented on your engine; nice work under the hood my friend and what a pleasure to have had you as a customer. You are so kind, I would've tried shipping it to Mars for you if you asked.

I will pick mine up in two weeks when I get to the US.
Nicholas sent mine to a colleague from work who I will meet up with in San Jose and she will bring it with her to me.

It does look great.

How hot does it get? Can you remove it with your bare hand when the engine is hot?

Erling,
just noted that you miss the plastic cover on the passenger side towards the front covering the connector and plus post.
It is not very expensive and you will need a plastic screw to keep it in place.
It protects against water and will help keeping the little electric gremlins out that tends to show up when you least need it.

Can't take credit for the looks under the hood, as the car was like this when I got it.

Randy: Have had the same concerns you have about how hot it gets, but I haven't driven the car with it yet, so I simply don't know. (It's winter here and roads are covered in salt, so the 928 does not get much excercise)

Peter: Thanks for pointing that out; didn't know anything was missing. Is it the area with the brownish cable next to the air intake tube ?

Hi Erling,

yes it is, and it is also +12V hot all the time with battery connected on that post.
It is a good thing to have it covered, it was missing on my car as well when I bought it.

Erling, that's a sharp looking oil filler cap! Complements your good looking engine bay!!!!!!!

Hopefully Nicholas is selling plenty of these caps to help with his engine / drive train work being done on his 928. Greg Brown is currently rebuilding his TBF engine with a 928Int'l short block and he will also be installing one of Constantine's special clamps for his drive shaft. After the ordeal he's been through, I know Nicholas will be very pleased to have his 928 back and on the road again.

Thanks for the great feedback guys. I have given some thought to a gas cap, but I wasn't sure many people would want one since it is not usually an area of show or attention. It is something to consider for sure. I could make a matching set (oil/gas).

I had also given some consideration to Billet Aluminum fuel rail covers. I think they would look pretty sharp next to a brightly silver painted intake man. Besides, many of the plastic varieties out there are getting brittle with age now (at least mine had). I don't think it would require much tooling to get right (translation: economical). Any thoughts?

I need a replacement fuel rail cover as it is, my pass side one is cracked in half. Would much rather replace with a cool billet alum set than cheap plastic looking stock ones. Would heat transfer to the fuel be an issue? I have heard people say that the cars run fine w/o the factory insulation under the plastic covers, but I wonder how hot aluminum would effect the fuel? On the other hand, some guys are now fabbing the entire fuel rail out of billet so maybe thats not even an issue?

Anyway good work with your products and I'll keep an eye out for your fuel rails if you decide to make them. Might even have to get an oil cap to match at that point.
