Thumbs up Racing 928 flywheel

This is such a work of art! Only 12.5lbs!!
No more slipping or broken clutch for me in the future

Before it starts.... Yes, it is an expensive, highly custom, race part for the 928.
Just a shame that it will be hidden inside the car!

Group buy! oh wait, this isn't the 944 forum...

That looks great. When will it and the motor be on a track?

Very nice looking. Is this a one off item or is it the one Carl was offering a month or so ago?

Well John, you could get a spare one & use it as a clock or something just so you could look at it; then you'd have it just in case you ever needed a backup too!

Get that car back on the track soon, you need to be racing again son!!

ps, thanks for your time & help the other week! I'll let you know once I have things resolved!
and at least my guess was the same as your diagnosis. I just wasn't confident to know that!
I know, I know....

what does a stock flywheel weigh again?

what a work of art!

But, how is going to stop a slipping clutch? get rid of heat faster?

curious what the motivation was to make such a special part.

I think you are correct, because the starter ring attaches differently on the S4 system.

it looks like an s4 type flywheel with a built in starter ring which on the s4 is on the Pressure plate, its not mounted on the flywheel. I was going to say what pressure plate are you going to use now but the tilton seems to be it. The diameter of the clutch contact area is tiny. Most likely a multi plate setup.

cool

Jim B, is this similiar to the setup you guys were thinking of offering and which you mentioned in a thread about lighter pressure plates that i posted on?

so, this new aluminum flwheel is heavier! maybe with the timing ring, its the same. in the end, is the dual disc stock 928 clutch that much heavier overall. I know the clutch parts for the tildon are very small and probably half the weight of the stock dual disc clutch. However, the dual disc set up is not that bad. i think i measured 25lbs vs 40+ for the Stock S4.
