Porsches at Pocono - June 1980
That's my brother's arm sticking out of the 911S (which dad still owns today) before they headed out onto the track surrounded by 928s. He bought his first 928 about 5 years later (a Silver 82 Euro 5spd).

Kind of a random post? But a great pic none the less.
928 design was just so ahead of its time.
I see some Porsche + Audi love there, a 5000 in the other line....

Yes, random by design! Thought the folks here would like to see some quality OB spoiler-less butt shots from back in the day.
My dad got this great scanner for Christmas that can capture old film negatives. He's going through boxes and boxes of negatives and slides right now. This is my fave so far.

The Silver 67 911S, which is directly in front of the silver 928.
He was 9 years old at the time... had quite a day going 110 mph around the tri-oval in a basically stock 911S. There's lots pictures of him from that day, too... wearing the coolest green and yellow tube socks pulled up to his knees, and a St. Louis Cardinals hat (even though they lived in MD at the time and he was a huge O's fan)

Great stuff. I have several hours of video from 1986 LRP and it is great to see how many 928's, 914's 356's and other cars were out on the track and how well they did. Times have changed and so many full blown race cars out there nowadays

Old school photos are cool.......like the whole series from the factory in the late 70's that showed 928's being built at various stages.....let see if I can find some
