It's been a few years but there's many specialty coating shops that will do it.

I had mine done at a place in Escondido - it may have been these guys:

Here's how mine turned out:

by the way, this intake still looks the same....well, except for minor damage to the radiator and surface rust on one of the fuel lines

It's silicone hose cut down to fit. You can order it in almost any size. I was about to order everything until I bought a EuroS intake. So now I need slightly larger hose.

hey hacker, i use a normal 4" dewalt grinder along with the dewalt "grinding wheels" that they make for steel. by no means was it any easier but i believe you could do 1 spider with less than 1 wheel. cheaper than those "sanding disc" if that is what you were using. i've never done a spider but between rat rod frame building and all my 4 wheel drive off-road stuff my son and i are always grinding something.

My spider has the seams removed and it's clean of grease. What's the final sanding step to prep for paint?

Does ceramic coating require degassing as part of the prep?

I ike Hackers Red Spider, i think that looks great.

As for a target price, i would shoot for $150-$200 honestly. There is really no set price even for a specific company, it just depends on who you ask and what kind of mood they are in on that day.

Price came in at $220.00. But this includes the spider, water cross-over, thermostadt cover, few bolt heads, and the oil fill can. Two coats of powder filled all the pits in the castings. I'm happy with the work.
