Default 89S4 transmission grenaded - need replacement

Sounds like I broke a gear in my transmission while making passes at the drag strip. Shifted into second and had nothing but grinding. Before I rip everything apart, I thought I would check to see if anyone has a spare for sale.
I have an 89S4 5sp limited slip (or should I say had, it is very limited now).
At least I was consistant; 12.3, 12.2, 12.2, 15 minutes with a tow.

Thanks in advance,
Woody

If its truly broken, and you will be buying a space, I will offer now to buy the broke unit for shipping and a couple hundred, if thats okay with your plans.

But all at once. I am still mentally fighting any parting of the car. I may just have a good couple quarters and have to get it back from him.

I do have a 1989 S4 5spd 2.64 transmission with 75k miles on it, with limited slip, available.

You might consider buying Heinrich's complete '89 S4. It's a beautiful car that was being considered for the track. Too nice to track it.

There are transmissions around for good prices...but the 89S4 5 speed is the rarest of them all with the 2.64 rear end.....everything else is either 2.20 or 2.72....

Its 75k. The odometer is correct exactly.

...in the US. It's the same 87-89 for Euro/ROW.

If so, it can be swapped into any 87-89 and maybe 85-86, but gearing would be different (lower). I'm pretty sure pinion machining would be required to fit it in an 83-84 Euro/ROW tranny, but gear ratios would be the same as you have now.
