Post New product development

We are planning on the next products jageng.com should tackle for development. Here are a few ideas:

Circular Clock Kit

Exterior "Billet" or metal accents - Door handle cover, lock rings & P-O-R-S-C-H-E lettering for rear in Al (or SS).

Rear Strut brace/bar with Alum or SS detail

Leather Dash cover

Tailight clear lens modification

Headlight - We were working on headlights last year, but this one is really tough because of the angle of the fenders. So it's best to stay with the pop-up globe. Today's lights are made from a clear polycarbonate lens, with a sculpted diffuser or reflector and lightweight - opposite of the current 928, which has a smooth reflector, and the diffuser in the glass.

Feel free to comment, assign priority or submit further ideas.

Cheers

I think the early 928 needs the most help. Maybe a rear taillight assembly that is flush with the body instead of sunk-in. The front lights would look great if they are either flush with the front of the car or bubbled out like the S4. Remember 928 maniacs lens covers? Like those but make them an actual part of the lighting assembely.

Hey Paul, what happened to your 'Rennlist Member' designation? I'm sure it was added last month.

I would vote for the dash cover if affordable .... say in the $250 range

Can you provide details on the circular clock kit?

Thanks,
Scott

I would like some useful gauges where the clock goes. I find the clock useless and more of an annoyance given my sterio already has a digital clock readout.

I am contemplating the FAST kit so A/F mix, and Boost psi would be useful info. For NA cars maybe fuel pressure and oil temp. Alternatively, a digital compass would be useful.

I am also interested in a set of nice pedals, (including the dead pedal).

FWIW....

The circular clock kit rocks! Send me one! Hate that digital clock.

I'd buy the leather dash cover today if you had one. I don't care for the carpet dash covers at all.

I'd also be interested in another option for the rear cover then whats currently offered. Possible a cover with clips that attach to the edge next to the window for the rear panals to prevent warping as the present covers don't offer that.

I like the ideas you've developed so far but would like to see more options in material offered. For example...aluminum interior pieces although look great...I'd be more interested in having the option of those pieces being made from wood. Of course not the *****, but the Middle Center Console Package would look great in wood and look as if it was a Porsche offered option.

Just my 2$ worth either way...your products are still great.

How about a hi-tech oil pan gasket that would let you tighten the bolts beyond finger tight?

The clear lense thing, but NOT like a the imports. A tasteful one like the mercedes benzes use now. Its red and white. One red part is actually a bright yellow bulb behind, and it shows through yellow when on. That would clean all that yellow up. Now the side markers need to be clear. But not frost clear - just clear.

Look at the new CLK - Thats the red/white/hidden yellow that I am talking about.

Hey Paul,

I second tdelarm's comment about interior finishes. As you might remember, I bought one of your older shifers because none of the new finishes matched my interior. No complaints here, I love my shifter <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" /> but I would have been back for more if you had anything with wood highlights.

Paul,

You have a leather dash and pod customer waiting in the wings- ME!

I'm gonna do something to the dash and pod, even if it's a plastic "dash topper" before SITM 2003 (May, 2003). Hopefully, you will have an option for me to consider in March or April, as the interior will be out on the garage floor and the car will be being panted.

I would love the FRONT lenses to be clear, I hate yellow lenses on the front (I know about DOT rules, phooey on DOT). Same thing with front turn signal markers.

Also, I would LOVE an updated sticker to go over the silly thermostat, the peice with the funny geometric shapes indicating output zones and temperature blocks. It looks VERY dated. It would be a huge update.

Tim & Paul,
I found a company in the US that does Wood and also Carbon Fibre dashes/consoles.
Pretty reasonable between $280 -$320 for a 26 piece kit.

Here's a new one:

How about brushed aluminum speaker covers? Not the screens...they don't wear out. I'm talking about the cheap plastic rings that screw onto the speaker and hold the screen in place. Mine are brittle and want to crack every time I take them on/off.

Ought to be a simple part, given the stuff you've done already, no?
