Question Bulb Control Pinout Question

Hi all,

I am at the "assembly is the reverse" stage of the HVAC refurbishment, part of which is to reconnect the Bulb Control Unit (928.641.603.05) attached to the passenger-side parcel tray.

The connector has had pin 7 removed from the harness side of the connector (the hollow pin is hanging loose at the end of a black wire).

Can anybody tell me what this pin is for, and why it might have been removed?

The unit seems to work fine, as I was getting a warning until I reconnected the rear markers, but this pin disconnected has me spooked.

Thanks for that.

Now can you tell me how I missed that post?

I remember reading that thread as it was one that came up in my search, but I do not (obviously) remember seeing that picture.
