The link attached is a picture of my engine prior to "major" detail work and performance mods. She doesn't even look the same!

quick question, since 4.5 has 240 and 4.7 liter has 300 hp, i'm guessing there is more to the s version than just .2 liters increased displacement. does the s use a different crank, etc., and what are the major differences in the two versions? is it hard to turn a 4.5 into an s?

Blackfoot,

The Euro S has 300 hp and the engine has many differences from its US counterpart 4.5L. The Euro S has different cams, larger throttle body and intake runners, and different pistons. The Euro cars used CIS until 1983 while the US cars ditched it in 1980. The 85-86 US cars had 4-valve engine while the 85-86 Euro S was still using two valve technology. There are more differences but this is just a brief summary.

The Euro S is 4.7L vs 4.5 for the early US engine.

European cars have to have their stickers-

Funny thing; When my Belgian girlfriend came to visit me in Orlando for the first time, she was amazed that I would go running in nothing more than a set of nylon running shorts, socks, and my ASICS. She's like "how do you carry your ID this way?"

I responded "I don't bring one. I guess if I get run over and killed or something that it could present some problems...but they'd figure it all out evenentually, and at that point it wouldn't matter to me obviously!"

-Not the right thing to say. Oh well...

[In Europe I usually do my run on a treadmill at a health club. Outdoors jogging I usually leave my passport at the apartment- technically illegal, but the chances of the the Belgian "Reichswacht" checking up on me are nil-

Anyway, here is what you should see on your drivers door jamb. Mine was imported from Vienna via Antwerp and Jacksonville, Florida on June 12, 1985 and the car had 12 km when it came in. Some company in Pompano Beach called "Mala GMBH" brought it here and federalized it. Most of that is on the sticker.
