George and Rob Budd,
I'm really interested in the V8 (Porsche or GM?) in the 911 and the 350 in the shark, Could you each give us a little story behind these "euro-american beauties"?

As for the 120 mph endpoint, all I can say is I've never driven faster than that, so I wouldn't know, but I feel there's plenty of power to keep pulling at about 110. That's where MY rev limiter kicks in...- Ruf

Robb who did you get to make the headers and motor plate kit? I bet it runs pretty good with that chevy. Do you have a carb or fuel injection?
Rufus I got my V8 kit from Rod Simpson

My last serious triple digit run was
a while back.
It involved an IROC.
I believe it was either geared on
the grunt side or the driver tended to
cringe at speeds over 125.
Well it was a two lane road - wide shoulders - though. SH 349 From Lamesa to Midland.
Although there were two minor flat spots, from the time my sHARk settled on suspension in the 90 mph + zone that puppy flat hauled ***. I had to slow down a couple of times to let the IROC catch up. The IROC driver was, initially, twitchy when he passed me and again when I first passed him. So when I would reel him in I actually paused off of his left rear each time and when he stabilized I simply drove away.
You need to do all of the minor maintenance first, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, timing, check advance, check Vac. lines, and the CATs, throttle cable suggestions above would be a REAL, GOOD IDEA. Hell, if I had been thrashed by a stock 6
in the realm of the triple digit -our stompin ground- I'd even check to see if my wheel bearings needed a repack.
You are missing 15 to 25 mph somewhere...
Start looking!!!
Good luck and don't let THAT happen again.

I know I mentioned timing and advance,
BUT...
I returned to my original timing and advance this morning - got to work early and had to much time on my hands - the performance kick was phenomenal and immediate.
I don't know how I got used to the drop in power,
Kickdown also improved.
I forgot how good it feels to be pushed back in the seat under acceleration.
BTW I had advanced timing about 7-10 degrees in hopes of gaining a HP or so. I must have gotten used to the performance drop using the sHARk as a daily driver while at the same time I decided to to stop reacting to every damn car on the road that HAD TO PASS A PORSCHE. Damn Soccer Moms!

I agree on the cats... Once while mine were clogged ( 2 of the 3 in the system ) I got beat off the line by two teenage girls in their mom's Ford Tempo. Uuuughhh... Went straight to the exhaust shop and had them replaced. About killed myself pulling out of the shop because the new-found power on takeoff put the car sideways. Quite a difference
