Are you going to get a PPI or trust your own examination? Truth be told, I did my own "PPI", which was next to nothing other than trying everything, driving it hard, looking at the engine compartment, and getting under the car to see if anything was falling off underneath. And you have an advantage over me when I bought mine - you have owned a 928. I had never even sat in one until I picked mine up. Anyway, there are lots of potential hidden issues, and I guess you are factoring that into your low-ball offer getting accepted. BUT we would be negligent not to recommend a PPI from a competent shop.

Sincerely, I wish you the best. Even though you got a fair offer from the insurance company in this case, I understand your frustration in having to go through all this. We all have a lot of things we'd rather do than get banged up in an accident and spend weeks trying to find new wheels.

The white car looks nice. I hope it pans out and that you are back behind the wheel tooling around with big smile on your face ASAP.

It may be the angle, but the driver side headlight looks to be resting slightly lower. Should be an easy adjustment/snug up. That door window tint would get you pulled over in 5 minutes in CA. (OT - I have a buddy with factory tint on a new car who got pulled over and ticketed! The officer complained that he couldn't see in the car and that was all needed to ticket it.)

Anway, it does look sweet. Is that an extended steering wheel hub I see?

Chattanooga, TN is a great half way point. If you are coming through on a weekend call when you hit Nashville and we will hook up. 423-718-3019

Nice looking ride. Now bring it to Sebring next month for the Shiver if you get it. In my experience nobody gives a damn about tint levels here in the FL. Wrap it in Limo 5. G (Owner of the popular color no one seems to like.)

The one in IL that is Cassirot Metallic is not in all that great shape. The dash is cracked and the paint is chipping in some areas. I thought for having 44k miles it would be in better shape. Seems like a decent deal though.
Don't listen to all the crap about Cassirot Metallic its a awesome paint color expecially in the sun! It definitely screams Miami but I'm a big 80's buff anyways and I always seem to get more looks from the girls.

Jees, what an ugly color.

JK, riffing on what started this thread.

I really do find white to be boring, and the burgundy in cassirot or the champaing is striking . . . to me. Porsche is teaching tolerance through color combinations, u know.

Got to live and let live not only in the car world.

I am in Atlanta, would be happy to meet with you on your RT up north. My baby is dropping fuel on my driveway so I might not be able to drive her. Glad you found a few 928s that caught your eye.

That thread is a typical thrashing any car for sale gets here. I did notice the headlight, and it is true the hood is crooked (looks like moving shims will take care of that), but the I can't see evidence the front end was replaced. You should see my hood and front bumper cover and I know my car has never had body work. I don't see why the mileage is doubted. I don't like the peeling intake, but that area is so small it can be touched up (I've done it). Anyway, it would be better if someone had seen it up-close and personal.
