Hey guys this car has been for sale for quite some time. I have talked at length to the owner who has the service history and it seems to be a great car. It's an 87 5 speed with low miles. The only think I don't like is the burgundy interior and indifferent to the cassirot paint. But I could wait forever for a nice 5-speed in dark green or mocha. I don't care for red, black, or silver either so it really narrows my options below a reasonable level. If the car checks out I will be driving it home from Springfield, IL 62704. I'll be driving back to Cape Coral Florida and traveling on I-55 S, I-57, I-24 E passing through Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and I 75 S to Cape Coral. I am wondering if any of the friendly people I've talked to here live near the route I will be driving? If you do and would like to say hi and bs in person for a while it would help make the trip just that much more fun for me. Let me know. Thanks. -Ryan

i would think the ones thats been posted about recently, casis rot with burgundy,
I recall my post saying it was a terrible combo. But if you hate red, silver and black , and if dark green is your ideal color then what i think is terrible maybe right up your alley.
Good luck

Just remember, the two most expensive things to fix on a 928 are the paint and the interior. If you don't love it, don't buy it.
It's not like you can put a bag over her head when you drive her.
Or your's, for that matter.

Sport seats? Yum.
Burgundy interior can look fine if in good shape and not faded. The interior color doesn't come through well in those pics. That exterior color is pretty nice. It's all subjective, but I tend to ignore this in favor of over all condition. Generally, I wouldn't buy a white car, but when I found mine, the condition was so good, it was easy to ignore the color.
Hope it works out and you enjoy the trip.

Are you two just naturally smart asses or am I recieving spescial attention? Since I am still fairly new hear I am still not sure what to take as a tease, bating me for a responce, or if it is my lower intestines that are too constricted. I'm thinking you are both pulling my chain in which case it's actually pretty funny. Perhaps I just want to badly to be accepted here, and I just need to chill the xxxx out . Yeah, I just need to chill.

buy what you like, and don't pay any attention to what you read here......
what's the most popular color?
red
next is black
beyond those two, you will get a fair amount of grief.......
at least it's got a 5-speed----Roger will give you heck for that!
Good luck!!!

Roger ... If you mean to say he is a 928 auto disciple who wanders the land in a bid to convert 5-speeders to his religeon... Then it's ok you've no need to worry I can refute his claims of perfection whith those of my own.

I think it's awesome. A cassisrot 5 speed with sport seats. I would do it.
It took me a few years to warm up to the non-dude type colors, but I like the rarity of it all, and I would be psyched to have something more unique.
If the condition is good, learn to love it. Condition is way more important than the other stuff.
How about John Wu's "football brown" S4 that was owned by the Brown's quarterback?
The pearl white GTS sold bu a friend of Chuck Z?
The wimbledon green GTS?
The pearlglanz last GTS?
Chuck's "Froggy"?
928s have had some off the wall colors and interior colors, and I like all the odd colors now. But I do like how easy it is to touch up rock chips on a single stage black 928...

Totally agree. One of the coolest things about 928's, really all Porsches for that matter, are the extravagant color schemes that were available from the factory. I really like the odd colors better than the red, white , silver, etc. Really dig the blue and especially green ones. The cassirot is one of the best colors imo. Its looks exotic and its like nothing else you see on the road. Good luck with that car, sincerely hope it works out.

News Flash: Here is an Awesome 89 5-speed that I have made an offer on. He is in FL reletivly close to me. He has it priced fairly high which is understandable considering it's milage (57k) and condition (excelent) It's a bit out of my reach now but It all depends on the price he is willing to sell for. If he wont come down for me then I'll just have to go for the 87 one in Illionois.
