Was wondering if anyone knew what the official Porsche name was for this color:

I've heard Burgundy, Wine, Garnett Red, and Ruby Red.

Also, I know Porsche did a lot of one-off colors and custom interiors, but is there anywhere that lists all the colors with official names and designations?

Yes, the factory manuals (Volume 5) has the complete list. If you post the model year and paint code, someone will let you know.

Shawn

I think Tony's right but check the following Australian site which may help you further.

Jim, I found that site last night while searching. The car I'm looking at is an 83, the closest color on that site for and 83 is Ziegelrot, Kiln Red. I have to get the codes from the owner.

Berg, thanks for the tip on the manuals. The owner is including a fische set and reader in the deal.

If it is an '83, and the color is factory standard, it would be ruby red metalllic (rubinrot metallic).

It's definitely not ziegelrot metallic (kiln red metallic) - that would be a lot lighter.

Just remember that sometimes people ordered colors from previous model years, from the 924/944 series, or at the end of the model year there might already be some "color test" cars from the factory (as they are testing the looks of next years' color schemes).

PS: I like the combination of sandals and white socks the person who took the picture was wearing. Very elegant! Bill Gates would be proud...

Nicole, I think that you are right and it's ruby red metallic. It's grown on me the more I look at it, was looking for a guards or indian red. Those two are everywhere and I don't see that many ruby reds around or on the net. The owner calls it burgundy. Still waiting on the codes from the owner.

I like the sandles/white sockx also!
