Default New Wheels Bling Bling

Well it took almost five months but my new wheels arrived. Still have to shorten the wheel studs on the rear as the new offset deletes the need for the wheel spacers on a GTS.

Awesome wheels and awesome car.
Kenesis are the way to go even if they are one of the worst suppliers on the planet.

Wow Indeed! So those are the K28Rs in chrome or polished yes Jim?? Looks simply awesome if I do say so myself! I'm sure you agree that it was worth your wait! The K28R doesn't have the 2nd lip so it makes the 18" wheel look more like a 19" wheel. Course I am kinda specifically partial to that particular Kinesis wheel.

The wheels look great,.......... I would not consider cutting the studs since once you do then they will require the rear wheel bearings to be replaced if you ever want to fit original wheels back on..........Much better to go with the steel open lug nuts use some anti seize on the threads, also are the factory studs threaded far enough so the lugs wont run out of threads with the new wheels???

I ended up cutting the rear studs. Without cutting them the only other option is to use the open lugs & trust me, it looks like crud with such awesome wheels. I tried it 1st, used several sized spacers, & even painted the studs to make them less obvious, but it just didn't look right. At that point, I didn't hesitate to cut my rear studs. I put a lug on each stud, taped them to the length I needed, used a 3-4" cutting wheel & it worked like a charm.

I also cut my studs when I put on a set of 993 wheels. You can get spacers W/ studs on them if you want to go back to the original wheels. The cut studs on the wheel bolts up to the spacer and then you bolt the original wheel to the studs on the spacer. A bit of a pain in the *** but it can be done. I got the stud/spacers from 928 International.
Oh yea great wheels on your car. The K28Rs are one of my favorites!

Wheel width and offset?

How much thread would be showing with rear steel auntie-siezed open nuts?
Possible to use a nut cap to hide the open nuts and stud?

So how much faster do those wheels make you, Jim?
Warp 11?
