Hell yes they're good! And that is a great price for a pair of them.

What the heck is H8? US should have H5 DOT.

Maybe this will help : H5 to H4 conversion...

If they don't say Bosch, they must be aftermarket, not OEM. I think OEM are now made in Croatia.

Bosch or Hella? Who supplied them? the ad clearly omits the manufacturer.

With a suspect brand you may just be throwing money away. Glass quality can be poor and all you need is one foul rock to make them worthless. Although a stray rock can do that to Original ones as well, Ive found that reputable suppliers have better quality glass, wether its thicker or just better i dont know but crack one and they are toast.

Thanks guys but does OEM mean that the quality is the same as Porsche or am I wrong to assume this. They do mention that the lights are produced in Germany and are OEM.

they may very well be Bosch or Hella. But its a bit vague for me. I would contact the seller about this before buying, that should clear up any misunderstanding.

These come from Vertex and Vertex is well regarded here on Rennlist, although not well known perhaps by the 928 guys as we have allot of really great smaller companies. I would think they are of good quality and these look to be a great buy.

And about those stone chips, well its actually not such a big risk when you have a car whose headlamps retract.

Orginal Equipment Manufacture (OEM) that Porshe used is Bosch. Bosch made them for Porsche in accordance with Porsche's specifications. You will only know the part meets Porsche quality/specifications if you buy the part from Porsche.

Manufacturing costs generally go up with improved quality.

Parts sold as OEM, are made by the car manufactures' OEM and may be of the same quality or specifications, or it may be higher or lower quality, but only they, the OEM knows for sure.

Aftermarket manufacturers have to make assumptions on quality or specifications since they don't always know the Porsche specifications.

So, Genuine Porsche Parts are generally better quality than OEM. And OEM is generally better than Aftermarket. However quality can vary widely regardless source, so you could actually have higher quality part with Aftermarket.

I'd buy them then call Vertex about the manufacturer. I don't think anyone besides Bosche else makes an 8" H4 with all the correct hardware for a 928. I can see the necessary black plastic pivot - that's reassuring.

I believe that you drive on the left hand side in HK. So you need H8s that dip to the LHS.

If these H8s are for European/US market they will dip the wrong way for you ..... ?

Ah, I missed the HK thing. Thanks, John. If the car is in HK, then I wonder why he would switch to H4s.
