Hey Everyone!
(I've obviously won the last response prize!!!) Sorry I haven't chimed in until now. It's been an eventful December/early January for my family and myself. I'm just now getting back into the swing of things and catching up on my Rennlist reading.
Tim and Cheryl, thank you so much for hosting again this year. This is a "not to be missed" event for any 928 owner.
I will be attending and I especially can't wait to finally play some poker at the Cal Neva. Last year, they were just getting the table set in place, but we were a few weeks too early:
"Try your luck at the Cal Neva Casino’s new Texas Hold’em poker, every Wednesday through Sunday from 5pm."
See you all in June...

All right Joe! We may have a decent Socal contingent this year from the look of things, would be great to have a 928 caravan up 395.

Sorry to steal the "last response" prize from you, Joe... but I'm in, with or without the revlimiter(hopefully with).
Tim, is it all set with Cal-Neva? Just mention SATL or Porsche club?

It is all set but I have not had the time to post the rates for the rooms, set up the protocall with the manager and post the adgenda. Give me another couple of weeks and I will get you all of the information. Don't worry about the rooms, I have booked quite a few this year. I don't want anyone to be left out this year and unable to get a room.

Tim -
I plan to attend as well and drive down from Seattle. This will be my first 928 event! Look forward to rates etc. Should we book now or wait for you?

Hi Tim,
Lori and I are sure to attend this year. Hopefully we will have a full caravan of 928's coming from Colorado this year, too! As everyone has stated; we're very glad you are hosting this wonderful event again, and look forward to seeing you, Cheryl and the rest of the 928 clan.
Can't wait until June!!!!

Good to hear Erik, I'm looking forward to seeing you guys out this way again.
The news of a caravan just may be the swing point for Dad to make this drive, I'm timing my drive to Denver around his plans.
I keep telling him he's not getting younger...
BTW, rumor has it you are 928less...

Ok, I feel guilty about not posting some details so here goes some info.
The event will be on June 13th - 15th in Crystal Bay (Lake Tahoe) Nevada at the Cal Neva Hotel and Casino. http://www.calnevaresort.com/ 800-225-6382 for Reservations.
As always spouses, SO's, kids, pretty much anyone is welcome. Room Rates this year are pretty much the same except the standard room:
Standard $89
Premier $109
Executive $129
Suites $179 - $239
For those of you not attending in the past, all the rooms except the suites are the same. What you get by going from Standard to Premier to Executive is the floor that the room is on. Almost all of the rooms have a lake view but the higher up you go the more awsome the views become. On the top couple of floors (Executive) the views are all unobstructed. Step up to a suite and grab a 180 degree shot of the lake. Maybe some of the folks who attended last year can ad something about the views.
There will be a welcome party for you on Friday night with appetizers and drinks provided. Friday night is dinner on your own and some gambling if you are so inclined. Saturday we will depart on a group drive through the Sierras or some other undisclosed location. We will be stopping for lunch then a drive back to the hotel.
Dinner will be Saturday night in the Indian Room and some of you will be sitting in California and some in Nevada. Don't yell at each other though because you will still be sitting right next to your California dinner companion.
After dinner we will have a gaming contest provided for us by the Cal Neva. After that you are on your own the rest of the evening.
Sunday will start with our usual drive around the Lake and then Father's Day lunch will be provided for you at another undisclosed location.
The price for dinner this year is $49 per adult and $22 for kids under 12.
Your choices will be:
CHAR BROILED PACIFIC NORTHWEST SALMON
Served with a Balsamic Reduction, Mashed Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables
NEW YORK SIRLOIN STEAK
Broiled 12oz. New York Strip Steak with a Red Wine Demi Glace, Roasted Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables
SHRIMP AND SCALLOP FETUCCINI ALFREDO
Creamy alfredo sauce, pan seared shrimp and scallops
VEGETARIAN WELLINGTON
layers of fresh veggies in puff pastry, cheese sauce
All meals will include Creme Brulee as the dessert selection.
Send your checks for dinner to:
Tim Dey
Directional Media Services
920 Incline Way
Suite 2B
Incline Village, Nv 89451
Don't forget to tell me who is coming (Names) and what their dinner selection is , don't just send in the check. I can't read your mind.
As usual the first TWO checks I receive will get a nice prize at the banquet.
This isn't all but it will get you started.
The hotel is in their off season and only has one reservation agent at the front desk until April. You may be asked to leave your contact info and they will call you back. If you haven't heard from anyone or have any problems with the rates, give them two days to respond then drop me a pm with your info and I'll look into it. Be sure to tell them the reservation is for Sharks at the Lake
See you all later and I'm really looking forward to seeing the new faces that have posted.
