4PSI. Nice video. 0-100 in 9 seconds. Very flat torque curve.

Someone should buy that car.

And save me.

Excellent work, Carl.

However, I must say that I suspect the car will sell at a proper price - but only if you replace that toasted fender. Otherwise the bidders will be lowballers looking to scoop up damaged goods. Just IMO.

"Let me know if you ave any questions"

The Carfax shows it had 63,431 miles in 05 and now it has 63,600 miles? Was the odometer gear broken?

Carl, how the hell am I going to get my car to where I am content with driving it, when you keep coming up with these incredible over engineered "must have items". I started with your upgraded heater valve, then installed the solid steering bushings, then bought the aux electric fan, and then got your upgraded A-arms and I have to admit, I am more than happy with everyone one of your items I've installed. The problem herein lies...I can't get enough of your products! That SC setup looks to be another winner. Now I just need to sell the 74 BMW 2002.

I think you are right. In its present condition, with everything that has been done to it, this car is a real "buy". But the rumpled fender I feel will hold the price down further than it should.

Kevin: Yes, this is a low-boost kit with very high adiabatic efficiency. Consider that the 85/86 32v motor has no knock sensors, and has a CR of 10.1:1, and no room for an intercooler. And my customers typically have 23 year-old head gaskets at this point. These factors made me stop the Stage 1 kit at 4 psi.

But, because the output temp is so low from the air-cooled Raptor, (we have had a temperature rise of only 20 to 30 degrees over ambient compared to 90+ on other blowers I have used) we get very acceptable HP gain-per-pound of boost numbers. The HP gain per Pound is 18.8:1.

This kit came in very, very well if you consider results from other comparable SC kits.
Our Stage 1 SC kit on the 16v K-Jet yields 80 HP from 6 psi, or 13.3 HP per PSI
Our Stage 1 SC kit on the 16v L-Jet yields 104 HP from 6 psi, or 17.3 HP per PSI
Our Stage 1 SC kit on the 16v LH-Jet yields 80 HP from 5 psi, or 16 HP per PSI
This Stage 1 SC kit on a 32v LH-Jet yielded 85 HP from 4.5 psi, or 18.8 HP per PSI
So, although 4 psi may seem "low" - you can see that is quite effective.

JB: the odometer works fine. The photo of the odometer shows actual miles as of that day I listed it. But, I rounded up in the text of the listing to 63,600 miles so I had room to provide test-drives to perspective purchasers. Didn't want to do a bunch of test drives and have somebody say "Hey, thats not the mileage the ad says!".

Figuired if it was LESS miles than advertised, they would not mind. "Under-sell and over-deliver"

I just do not see a way to get an air-to-air or air-to-water intercooler installed without making lasting changes to the car.
It can be done and has been done... This one works with a very nice Delta of 7 degrees. Quite the work of art... And no sawzall or permanent changes were made.

But it isn't color matched to the intake. Pshaw.

I doubt Shane will ever take it off, so in a way it is a permanent mod.

Are you sure no permanent changes were made? Like to the fuel cooler on the firewall to relocate it and get some room for that intercooler? Its hard to tell from those pictures how it is nested in there. Please post more pictures Shane, if you'd like to share.

I suppose if I had a demand for it, I'd make one. So far, nobody is beating my door down for a Stage 2 on a 85/86. I'd like to break even on the development costs for the 86/86 kits before I start throwing more money at that year-and-a-half.

BTW: This 85' that I supercharged just sold for $7,100. New owner is supposed to pick it up Saturday.

Yep no changes Carl. Everything is in the stock location including the FPR and Dampner. This was designed to take the place of the air box and uses the mounting studs to lock it down on the MAF.

how large of a cooling core were you able to fit into it?

The air box is pretty large, more than large enough to be replaced by an air-water intercooler. In fact, it could probably be the same size or larger than the middle-of-the-V intercoolers on roots-type supercharged kits.

The air filter box is large because it must reach to the left and the right of the engine to allow the two cold air intake hoses to attach to it.

When supercharging, we usually do not have two air inlets headed for the MAF sensor anymore - just one. So all that airbox space is not useful for the intercooler, only some of it.

Anyway, good job, Shane.
