Isn't the GTS the one pewter 82 was looking at a year or so back. IIRC he passed on it for too many issues. Curious to see what the market will bare.

That is one of the four (I believe) Canadian spec 89GT's that are around. Not sure if it still has the metric dash, but it doesn't have rear air and they usually have a heated sport seat package. Only the Cdn 89GTs came without rear air..as I haven't seen any of the US 89GT without it. Anyone out there with a US 89GT and no rear air?..

I know that GT.
Several years ago I met Joe Mattiko at one of the Frenzies ('02 or '03....the one where Tom F. got tagged by the Mustang).
Joe had a very nice white/red '89 GT with Boxster S wheels (I'd say that it narrows it down right there). It was the first set of Boxster S wheels that I'd seen on a 928.
Having an engineering background, Joe had done some beautiful work with the sound system in his car - particularly the custom sub in the spare well (the first time that I'd seen that app.) This listing mentions the high end sound in the car.
I can't recall if the car was Canadian Spec, but Joe had it registered in Ohio if my memory serves me.
I think the yellow calipers in the registry photos as well as the B-J auction confirm it.
What's funny about both of these B-J cars is that the exact ones were the deciding factors in my choices of wheels over the years.
Joe's Boxster S fitment looked really good at the time, and I got a set of new takeoffs from the P dealership in Fla. that Joe turned me on to.
The RH RAL wheels on that GTS....well it's obvious the impact that those had on me. I didn't want to go to the 19" extreme, and couldn't stuff as much rubber under the rear fenders as that GTS, so I didn't acheive the exact look, but pretty close.

I'm curious about the guage on the driver's side windshield pillar. What is it?? Is it factory??
Second, I don't know anything about Barrett-Jackson but it looks like these cars will be auctioned?? Has anyone been to one of these auctions and purchased a 928 at one?? If so, I'd like to know if the cars can be viewed/inspected before the auction. Just curious, the 89 looks tempting.

VDO Oil Temp gauge...not factory.
The Barrett-Jackson description says "100% stock except for the Devek sway bars, strut tower and Boxster S wheels."
Unless many upgrades were removed from this car prior to BJ getting it, it's got many upgrades as mentioned in Joe's FS listing (thus not even close to 100% stock). I'd say that GTS mirrors would be worthy of mention.
I'd venture a guess that it's very likely that the majority of upgrades were done properly given the P.O. of this car, so not being 100% stock isn't a bad thing - at least in this case.
This is one of those examples of a car going to auction with a very solid, documented history (assuming that there were no sketchy owners after Joe).
When Joe listed this GT for sale a few years back, he was including everything needed to put it back to stock (including the original CS wheels).
It appears that those things may have been separated from this car by the time it got to B-J.

That white GT is to die for. How rare: full red leather and sport seats... I remember seeing it for sale probably in '04, for like $26K. Worth every penny.

Should be a good time - always is. Most of the cars are on displayed outside the big tent - Its DEFINITELY worth a trip to Snobsdale if you have never been.

"Snobsdale" Drew!... "SNOBSDALE"!!!... Oh, c'mon now, just because I razzed you 'bout your 'Stang at the last get together... really now, we're not ALL that bad...
BTW, the auction IS a blast and well worth it if you've never been. Some amazing cars to be seen...

Too funny, there is always the exception my friend.
I tell you this, I drive by West World to go to work and the part of the 101 from Shea all the way around to 56th street is polluted with high dollar rides. It's "no big deal" to see a high end Bentley, Aston Martin or Ferrari.
Looking forward to this year!

It IS pretty amazing and I know we get spoiled here in "Snobsdale" being able to see all these "supercars" driving around all the time like so many econoboxes. Lambo's, Ferraris', Carrera GT's, Ford GT's, Lotus' (Loti?), Astons, Bentley GT's, Jags, etc. Man does my neck get sore sometime, BUT, it is nice to know that a 928 STILL gets plenty of it's share of looks, thumbs up and comments driving down the street!
