Default Benefits of a 'squirter' engine

I've done some searches on the squirter engines that are apparently are only present on early 87 s4's. This became of particular interest during the disscussion of the merits of the 87 Strosek for sale and it was suggested that this was a preferable design for boosted applications. Now I'm under the impression that this feature aids in cooling of the cylenders, which seems of obvious benefit and I am wondering why this design was halted in the first place? And as far as an I/C'd supercharged 928 platform goes I'm not quite sure why people are saying this design is begging for boost moreso than subsequent S4 engines. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Sucks heat from the piston BUT big BUT adds to the already somewhat high windage , the oil storm going on in the crankcase below the pistons.

Its something I have been ruminating about adding to my S4 block. I don't know if I will though.

89 S4s have the stout cylinder heads. I would be looking at those as well if I were boosting.

Of course a cherry 84 auto with low compression can be bought for a song. Seems like a great candidate also.

I was thinking the same thing.

Our new catch phrase will have to be "you've been Dangled"

Dangler is a man from the OC. Not from Florida. I'm not sure what the problem was with his question?

Nothing wrong with his question. He is just enthusiastic. Takes many off guard. I am sure he is a fine upstanding member of society.

It's not the question. Don't be coy.

If you think the question is 'suspicious', WHO CARES? Just ignore it!

Is it the 89 up that has the better heads, or just the 89?
I thought it was 89 and up.

Russ, even the Lord himself is a Mopar fan.

Do the squirterr blocks have a certain engine number or is it hit or miss with an 87 engine.
