is the highest you'd recommend buying a 928? I'm interested in a 1987 with 115,624 miles.

do you recommend. and if not what should a buyer look out for.

I am at about 192k on my supercharged 88, still with excellent compression numbers (although I always panic every once in a while when something minor fails and my first thoughts are it is terminal)

Bought one at 146k and the other at 121k. Love 'em.

I have checked this out in person- no rub strips
. They show the mileage on the window as 400,000 or something like that.
Absolutley no history available for this Shark from the dealer. Interior looked pretty warn, dash was heavily cracked, paint was a '5' at best. I would not buy it without checking for TBF and finding out which mileage is right.

There is no way to know anything about that car just from the add. Are there any service records, is the carfax clean , no salvage title ?does it run ? has it been painted and how well? does the A/c work ? Lots and lots of questions but the asking price seems low unless it needs $10,000 of fixing to be a decent car ! Have you ever owned a 20 year old car before ?

Ok I just looked at the link... My dear friend, that car looks horrid. I understand you would like to get an S4 fairly cheaply and fortunately you can get very nice ones now in this current economic confusion. Take a look at these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Calif...QQcmdZViewItem

They have no reserve price, they are far better accounted for and you might get one at a fantastic price and well worth the plane ticket.
