George and Abby, there are many ways in which that Euro could be sick and not performing up to par. One very common reason is the motor went kaput early in its life and was replaced by a US motor. Check the ID tag on the motor to be sure. Other things include the wrong computer put in by the importer, loss of compression in one or more cylinders, US cams in place of the Euros (again because a dealer would have done it), or simply out of tune.
I doubt it was out of tune if it was maintained by a Porsche mechanic, but even the best sometimes have a hard time diagnosing a loss of compression or the wrong bottom end without being strickly a 928 nut.
As an example a local racer here has a Euro which last year dynoed at 275rwhp basically stock. This year he dynoed it and he got 225rwhp. He was stumped because it still pulled very strong, ran an even mixture and idled well. He did a compression check and found a dead cylinder. Seven good and one bad, still went like heck, but not quite full power. Personally I would have that S2 checked out.
Now as a personal case of humility I lost a race to a Buick Regal GS this summer. That is one of the new ones with a supercharched 3800. Well he took me up to 100mph before I finally evened back up. When we got to a stop I asked what was done to the car as it was louder than my 928. He had a smaller pully, different computer, intake, headers,etc...... The car ran 13.1 in the quarter mile and dynoed at close to 300fwhp. That I would expect to lose to.
An Acura that has a hard time breaking 14.9 and dynos out at 195fwhp I doubt could take a healthy S2.

Thanks for joining.
I guess the NSX don't count?
How about an S2000? Both have VTEC technology. I'd like to see some film of you handing *** on an NSX at a big track and an S2000 at somewhere like Willow Springs.
Too your point about the Type-R, The TL-Stype has close to equal times to the Japan RSX Type-R in the 0-60 or the 1/4 mile time. The link I am posting is a side by side comparison. Please scroll down and provide some insight about the track times listed.

Would most of you agree to the average 1/4 mile time of 14.5 for the Euro's? The key word here, AVERAGE.

Are you saying based strictly on dyno?

Abbey, check out the calculator. Plug the numbers in as you see fit. I'm curious to how the TL compares in numbers.
S2 - 310hp crank/295ftlbs/265rwhp
Edited adition - 3,300 lbs

So, on paper and in theory - The S2 will have a full second on the TL. Which reflects the differences in times between the S2 and it's american brothers. Dude it's all good, the thing about it is this - no matter how new your car is or even how old it is - there will ALWAYS be something out the there faster. PERIOD.

Without having any personal Dyno experiences, it's hard to say. The resources I have read from states 310 stock but reputable like 330 - so I don't know for sure.
If your trying to attack my credibility regarding the C5 challenge. Keep in mind, I have MSDS headers, no smog pump and I have removed the mechanical fan. My Est Hp @ 347hp. Maybe High, maybe low. Won't know for sure until I go to the Dyno.
As well as 928's are Known for being kicked down killers. There aren't too many cars out there that compare in acceleration from 70 mph. The 928 is not a drag car and you should know that owning a 85 5.7 SC 6spd 928?.

It makes me want to buy another TLS just to prove a point.

The best statement on this thread is Kibort stating that "gearing is not a factor." If thats true then I propose a race. Mark in the 928 of his choice and me on foot for 100 feet. The only stipulation is that mark has to take off in 5th.
