US model GT and GTS are already well covered in 928 registry and there is more info waiting to be made public.

Hello,

I have just noticed that can see WP0ZZZ92ZBS840001 on the "front hood plate" pictured on the owner manual of my car.

Also what seems to be the second to last 1989 ROW GT, or last 1989 ROW GT (it depends if the last 1989 ROW 928 is an S4 or a GT) is currently for sale in Germany, according to Porsche web site.
This is WP0ZZZ92ZKS842487.

You are quite correct. I have just sorted all the MY81 VINs from your registry and there are eight (quick count) serial numbers triplicated in the 0 (RoW 928), 2 (US 928) and 4 (RoW 928S) sub-types. Numerous others are duplicated.

If it's of any use to you, I'll send you the spreadsheet.

I went to look at a very late GTS today, follow this link and scroll down http://www.thegallerybrummen.nl/nl/collectie/

It is advertised as the second to last GTS built, but serial # is 456, so apparently the fourth to last (of ROW models).

Nonetheless it is a beautiful car. Very nice lines, no rub strips, no sunroof.

Some weird stuff going on under the hood though. Looks line ECU connectors in the engine bay?

$56,000 US dollar's? Looks like my GTS will be heading for Europe when it's time to sell.

That's really weird, the engine's in, but the LH harness isn't connected? Someone did a bangup job of installing the air filter as well.

I would be checking the engine code and serial number it looks like someone forgot to feed the LH/EZK connectors through the firewall so in this case the engine may have to be lifted a bit to do this .
It may also be able to be done with the engine in position but it will be a pain

I bet the person that installed the engine in there had no idea where those connectors were supposed to go. Could there be any other explanation? Too funny!

First post for this 4 week old first time 89 928 porsche owner vin #WPOZZZ92ZKS842476 and I have the import papers that it came from japan, so that makes the guess that there were some 89 japan vins that belong in the missing ones in the first post, true. I look forward to learning all about my new to me porsche. Its up on jack stands in my garage in Alberta Canada (that time of year) By the way, I'm a mechanic and look forward ?? to replacing my rear main engine seal, I think. Hmm, now I think a manual might help

Welcome to the forum.

A paper copy of the manual works best for me, or pages printed from the CD set of manuals. Roger at 928srus.com has the latter.

Start a fresh thread and post some pictures of your car when you can.

KS842476 is within normal ROW '89 MY sequence. If your car has option C08 or C18 it very likely means there weren't separate VIN sequence for Japan in '89 and later MY's.

Now only unknowns remain ROW '87-88 and Japan '85-88 MY upper limits and perhaps pre '82 lower limits for all markers.

Some new data came available from fairly reliable source. Several VIN ranges updated with higher upper limit. Additional '94 ROW GTS was real surprise. Four cars lost from ROW '89 MY production.

This is WP0ZZZ92ZKS842487.
Latest info I have is that KS842484 is last '89 MY ROW VIN. Is KS842487 really correct data?
