Default Race, drive, Both?

This was sparked by another thread. The post leaned twards that we have mroe people here that race than we do that drive...

WHEN I SAY RACE, I mean serious.. not a "track day" guy. I mean you rebuilt your engine and tranny to RACE and not on the street.. You know what I mean....

I love it when people who know nothing about racing start racing threads. The polls never make sense.

i race mine. I drive it on the street. It has nothing rebuilt, as the engine and trannie have not been apart since the car was made in 1986.
91 race days, no DNF's.

Previously I counted 12 active people racing 928's and 7 inactive - that includes Open Road Racing.

Well, I clicked on race, even though my transmission was a stock G28/05 and is being upgraded to a stock G28/55. The motor is being rebuilt now, but initially I raced with a stock 4.7 Euro S motor as well. When I started racing I could have driven to the track, as MK does, but I just wasn't willing to press my luck My 928 race/track car is definitely not street legal now (when assembled).

Luck?? after 91 race days, driven to the track over 6 years, on the weekends to get groceries, etc, it can be counted on!

With regard to mechanical failures, since you persistently talk about how little you do to maintain the car, I would suggest you depend on "luck" there as well.
