Default Motor Mounts - while I am in there

Folks,

Getting ready to do new motor mounts on my 87 S4 with 34K miles. Purchased it last year with 24K from the original owner. Have already done the TB, bearings, waterpump, etc. Also did all fluids as well as x pipe from 928 MS and air conditoning hoses. Car has fresh front OE rotors and pads from PO. Will be:

Replacing motor mounts with the 928 MS mounts
Replacing steering rack bushings with the 928 MS solid mounts
Replacing engine oil and filter with Mobil 1 15-50 and Mann filter
Replacing fuel filter
Replacing engine brace with 928 MS brace
Replacing pan gasket with 928 Specialists silicon gasket
Adding GTS baffle

So the big question is, what else should I be doing while I am in there?

Thanks in advance!!

Vince

You might consider swapping to oil pan bolts to the stud kit offere by 928MS. It makes lining up the oil pan gasket much easier and I think the studs hold better. I re-used my oil pan bolts when i did this last year and the pan still leaked (with the silicone gasket). With my engine out for repairs, I have taken the opportunity to put in the stud kit and this time I think I will use some sealant on the gasket.

Stud kit/silicone gasket user here. I installed it dry, using loctite blue to hold the studs in the block. No drips, no seepage -- well worth it IMHO.

Lots and lots of rags!

Sounds like you've got a good plan, I would just say clean-clean-clean. And if you have any PS leaks, you might want to drain that system and address it while you're in there.

Oh, and also maybe the spring in the oil pressure sender.

Good luck!
