I had a buger of a time getting mine loose too. First, I sprayed it with Kroil - it's like liquid wrench, but 100x better. That still didn't work. So I put a big cheater bar on it and then used a floor jack to apply some pressure (not too much!). Then I used an air impact chisel and gently rat-a-tat-tat around the perimeter of the the plug - DO NO DO IT TO THE SEAT! The impact allowed the plug to rotate ever so slightly and loosen the plug. Hope this helps.

In manual gearbox its important to remove front end drain plug too. Othervise some of the old oil will still remain in.

I just changed mine two weeks ago. It took about 4.75 quarts. It drained out both plugs for probably half and hour prior to that.

Shawn
I will be taking my Vett to the Ferman party in Brandon on 60 this Sat over 400 will be in attendence. If your open to meeting me to pick up the oil I can work that out unless you care to drop by my house. Let me know I still need to find a 17MM Torx to get the bolt off.

I am out of town for a funeral and won't be back until sometime Sat. or Sun. I haven't booked my return flight yet so I really don't know. Maybe we could meet up on Sun. I'll let you know when I make my flight arrangements.

I have a 17mm chunk of allen wrench to put in a socket and I also have another 17mm hex tool as well. This is what I have used to change the diff. oil in both of my 928's.

heat will do it. get it off first, then drain front and then rear plugs.

the rear holds substantial volume. otherwise, its like mixing 3 quarts with 2 quarts. it takes near 5 quarts. (4.5 quarts)

I used a impact hex pulled from the socket and a BFW with a cheater to break mine loose.

4 quarts of redline will do the job.

Might depend on if you find any filings (a small film on my magnet plug is normal) and how long the stuff has been in there. If you are really ****, and you have Porken's rails or get it up level, you can drain and flush with 2 qts any oil, 2 qts Risolene, (or fuel oil, kerosene), run it gently through gears once or twice, drain, refill with Redline.

I have never had any issues with this, though I ALWAYS do my oil changes when the car has had a really good run. so it is pretty warm/hot.

Tampa if you haven't changed the brake fluid through the M/C and Slave definitely do that as well. That makes a big difference on clutch pedal uptake, feel and effort.
