Brake pad replacement help

When you are pushing the piston back to make room for new thicker pads, watch for the fluid backing up into the reservoir - keep a rag there to mop up spillage, or suck some out somehow. I havent had to bleed brakes for pad changes in the past. From looking at WSM, floating frame has pins as described above, floating caliper requires a couple of pins to be unscrewed with a 7mm socket from the inside face of the caliper. Niether looks difficult though. I think my 83 is floating caliper, yours me be the other style.

To avoid pushing too much fluid back through the lines when you force the calipers open, push the brake pedal after each set of pads is installed. This pushes brake fluid back toward the calipers, away from the reservoir.
I know someone who didn't do this and had a messy cleanup.
