I followed one of these this morning for about 3 miles. Initially I thought it was a 911. I drove by it, passed it, let it pass me, and finally got a look at its emblem. It surely violates Porsche's design patent or trademark. At 100 yards, they are virtually indistinguishable.

Mmmm......
Reminds me of the Camaro that had Chrysler Concorde headlights.
Chrysler didn't so anything about that, and GM didn't either.......
But, if you had trouble determining the difference between a 911 and the Z (considering the rear wing), maybe you might check into better glasses.......no offense.

There is no rear wing on most 911's nor on the Z that I saw. At 50 yards, from the rear, they are remarkably similar.
Oh, did you mean that little bump on the Z???
On a silver car at 50 yards you won't notice it. I can see it in the photo, I never noticed one on the car I followed.

Yea, I seem to be missing something as well. They have made that car/body style for around 5 years now. I don't see the similarities.
Fab's clip shows an awesome Audi R8 in comparison to a Carrera. It may be trying to say how sure footed the Audi is, but given that the Audi is moving at about 40mph and the Porsche is probably closer to 80, I don't see the true comparison

My thought was that the R8 had a driver and the P-car had a "drover".

Fabio's clip is from Top Gear. Clarkson is in the R8, and that's Hammond in his own 911, out to prove it's a far better car. This is the bit introducing Hammond's car into the segment. I don't think it's supposed to show any type of superiority or what not - it was just intended to be a sweet shot.
As for the 350Z looking like a 911 - I really don't see it.

Actually it makes lots of sense. When you realize the 350z is the end result of a car originally designed by a German from Porsche named Albrecht Goertz... The Fairlady Z.

I will admit that the wheel flairs on the Z look vaguely familiar to the flairs on my 964T from behind other than that there is no way to mistake one for the other.
