Post Instruction Manual for the radio

Many thanks to those on the list who helped me make the big plunge. The 87 S4 5-speed feels fabulous.

Now, if I could only figure out how to work the radio (and change the previous owner's station presets) life would be better. Somehow the radio manual was lost some years back apparently.

While you're at it, help on how to 'balance' the sound from front to back would be helpfull too.

I believe I have the Blaupunkt Reno, according to the option codes.

Thanks in advance

Daniel

Thanks Chris. However, they only go back as far as 1994.

Any other clues?

Looking through the 87 serv info manual the only thing it mentions is that the former speaker balance control is omitted. It does say it is a Reno SQR 46.

I might be able to locate a manual but you would think someone on this board would have one.

Daniel,

To set a preset, tune to the desired station, press ME (memory button), then press the desired preset button.

The fader is operated by pulling and turning the volume ****.

To set the time, press the clock button, then simultaneously press the ME and <SEEK to change the minutes or ME and SEEK> for hours.

Thanks Scott.

Now if I can track down a manual I can figure out the remaining 20 buttons

There is a small lever sticking out of the left of the volume control. It only seems to have 2 positions (up and down). It appears to 'boost' the sound level, any ideals?

Daniel,

Yes, you're right, that's the loudness control.

Other less obvious buttons:

PROGRAM - reverses tape direction or stops fast fwd/rew
DNR - Dynamic Noise Reduction
BXC - DolbyB/DolbyC noise reduction
MTL - metal tape (on for CrO2 and metal tape)
ARI - radio traffic information (FM mode only)
ZONE - selects ARI zone
ME - for setting clock and presets
M - manual tuning, button lights for manual tuning, off for search (Seek) tuning

Scan - press volume ****, searches for next station and gives an 8 second preview before searching again

Fader - pull volume **** and turn

If you're still hungry for knowledge, I could probably scan the owner's manual for you although I won't be able to do it until next week.

That's great Scott! Atleast now I know what all those abbreviations stand for.

Your offer of scanning is much appreciate. I'm on business in Europe all next week. If you could send the scans to my work email address that would be great: daniel.cloutier@aon.ca

I've been in touch with the folks at Blaupunkt, but they haven't had any luck in tracking a manual as of yet.

Again, thanks much!
