Post sHARK????

How did the Porsche 928 get the nickname sHARK?

(I'm thinking it came from somebody messing up and trying to type "Shark" with capslock on, and maybe a resemblance to the Mako Shark 'Vette.

???????

The designation comes from the front of the car and it's resemblence (sp?) to a Sharks snout.

Another version mentioned is because it's a predator and feeds on nearly anything that should cross it's path....

well, technically, i think the expression "sHARk" was coined by mr john struthers, who, besides being multi-talented and multi-faceted, might be multi-engined. at least he travels with two thermostats now.

During the development of the 928, a paper model of a shark was used to demonstrate the look (no straight lines) that Porsche wanted for this new model. They wanted to achieve a look that was sleek...therefore, the lines of a shark was incorporated into the design vs. the traditional "squatting frog" design

If you are refering to the : sHARk, as opposed to
: Shark or shark
I do use it but another Rennlister coined it.
However, not to disappoint Snow from Big Sky country. I did coin the shARKANSAS moniker and without a care to copyright and attendant riches happily give title to Jay and any other 928 owner who happen to wake up (with a hangover, no doubt) in Arkansas.
