Seein' as 928 International, 928 Specialists and others sell the OEM filter for just a few bucks more, I'm inclined to stick with OEM.

Those ones are a pretty blue colour, though.

I gotta say the OEM orange doesn't go with the look I'm going for under there. Maybe I'll just touch up that front edge...

They're just oiled filters like K&N... bad for your MAF.

Actually they are made by K&N for the European market. Do a search, and decide for yourself. Ed M

Randy I'm not sure I understand. The OEM ones are 34.00 and one time use. The K&N filters are 64.00 and life time use. These are the same price as one oem filter and last a lifetime. Please fill me in. Jason

They are more restrictive and filter less. For MAF cars (not your 81) the oil is known for ruining the platinum wire.

In what system of math does $34=$64?

All the tests I've seen show they filter better and are less restrictive. I've seen it first hand in displays for K&N. Have any proof to back up what your stating? Also I'm not seeing the point of your math quiz. Jason

There is also a little stand at my local auto parts store that "proves" I can run my engine without oil after using whatever additive they are selling.

Tell you what, I'll send you a bottle of this stuff and let me know how long your engine lasts with an empty oil pan

I sell stock air filters for $28.95.
I have plenty of K&N filters in my shop that were taken off 928's. Yours for $25 each.

IIRC the K&N is OK on the older cars without the MAF but more restrictive than the stock filter.
