Post Radiator fan conversion

I'm thinking about converting my belt driven hydraulically coupled radiator fan to an electric fan setup. 2 reasons I'm contemplating this option: 1)Less drag on the crank 2)My coolant temp. rises when idling around town but is fine on the highway or track (suspect I need to add silicone to fan clutch). Has anyone done this conversion? I've already replaced the T-belt, water pump, radiator, hoses, thermostat, thermostat housing seals, and coolant. Electric fans just seem more efficient to me than belts.

I know that there are at least a few people who have put electric fans on the cars without them. It should be a pretty straight forward process. Some have made a shroud for the electric fan, while others haven't. It should cool better with a shroud, but I guess it isn't an absolute requirement, as long as you have a fan with enough capacity.

Paul,

I added S4 cooling fans to my 928 but I also have the Devek radiator with the correct mounting tabs for the S4 fans.

Another question I forgot to ask is what CFM rating (on the radiator fan(s)) is required to keep this baby cool if it is just creeping around town?
