Does anyone have a pic or a link to the new 928 coming out?

There seem to be a couple of new porsche sports cars in the pipeline.( I haven't seen much about a 980 that PRDATR posted). The biggest and baddest being the V10 Carrera GT. Prototype pics at

I read in Autocar mag that week that this car HAS been approved for production. on sale in late 2003. So it looks as if by producing the Cayenne porsche feels the need to compensate by proving what they can do with real kickass sportscars.
And hey in another 10-15 years I will be able to afford a secondhand one. Wheeee!!!
But a new 928 it ain't. At a most basic level the engine need's to be upfront! And every actual metal sports prototype on view is mid engined. Also by producing the Cayenne porsche is going after big sales, they know from experience that 928s didn't sell in volume. They won't go down that road again. They may even think that the Cayenne covers that sector!
Thats what I think!

Very pretty car, very impressive, but the looks are not really derivative of a 928... more like a 959 that has been sat upon and flattened.
I would like to see something that has a visible 928 styling influence, kind of the way the new T-Bird harkens back... pardon the analogy...

Thaddeus, that car with the visible 928 styling cues has been out for a while now. It's called a 996. Just line your 928 up with any of them and see for yourself.

I have been trying to track down details on this. Porsche has not printed it anywhere that I could find nor is it posted on the web anyplace. Can you help me with a link to details? I am aware via a friend, that recently went to visit the Porsche factory, that caught a quick glance of the 997 that is coming to production but, the 980 was supposed to be built on the Cayenne platform as a front engined V8 or twin turbo V8 and Porsche was to indicated their intention to built the car about this time.
