The latest performance products catalog has some air horns in it. Have to figure out a good place to install them.

Having been required to be deposed many, many times related to traffic and car accidents....you should still get the construction company involved. Even though the truck driver made a mistake...he was put in that position by the contractor. Suppose the construction worker was supposed to have had training and did not....suppose there was to have been a traffic permit in place and there was not....it's your Porsche you're talking about here!

as long as the guy doesn't lie and say i rear-ended him, i'll get paid.

then the ins co can try to go after the construction co if they choose, it's not really something i have to deal with...

I put mine in place of the stock horns by fabricating a bracket for the trumpets and then got two giant hose clamps and a piece of rubber mat from OSH and attached the compressor to the fender brace. Worked well and used the original wiring. One hour job if you don't count removing the wheel and wheel well liner. I waited until I had a reason to do that annoying job for some other reason, like replacing the shocks or whatever.

Dave:

If you're like me, the "Hey, look on the bright side" comments aren't always what you want to hear. But it sure looks like you've avoided structural damage and that your shark will swim once again.

Sorry for the misfortune.

BTW, your signature graphic is a bit ironic at this point. I'm pretty sure you didn't ask the guy to back up...

I have two sets of train horns and police siren on my Peterbilt.

if I drive anything smaller than that on a regular basis-----I'm terrified.

(wish I could mount a set train horns in my Euro.....then again, I CAN put a cop siren in it discretely!)

Bummer Dave..hope you don't get screwed by the insurance...you'd be amazed how fast the truck drivers story will change....and he'll say you ran into him after he stopped...Good Luck ..

BTW..more look at the bright side..at least you can now get rid of the yellow French front turn signals ..and get some proper "white" ones ...

Later,
Tom

Yup! No doubt about it. I got hit while stopped at a light. Guy ran right square into the back of my P car and caused over $12k worth of damage, and I had knee surgery. In the deposition, the freaking ***** attorney for the other side starts saying things like" didn't I remember driving in front of his client and slamming on my brakes?". The guy needed someone to slam something up his "brake". Expect it. I agree with the comment that said you should have called an officer to the scene to nail this guy's story. I almost did in my case, because the kid came out of his car saying "Why did you stop at the light?" I asked him what he intended to do about it? and waited for his move. He walked away and I said I was calling a bear. He walked back. I should have called the bear anyway. Trust no one until you have the check in your hand.

Gosh, that's painful to see! I'm sorry this happened to you, and hope you get the other driver's insurance to cover all your losses.

Good point about the horn. Yes, the trains... The next track is 1/4 mile away, but boy, can I hear the horns!

[QUOTE=David R. Hendrickson;4748998]yeah, how timely hey, they were white when they went on.QUOTE]OMG! Are those the Canadian ones? How long did you have those on the car?

Can I use the lower right of the first picture as an example for quality differences?

Can you make one that shows the contrast to the side marker? Maybe same angle as the one shown, but just a bit more of the fender would be nice. This way, people could see that it's not a faded picture, but a real difference in color...

Thanks!
