Nice work on your lap times recently using a single gear. That's impressive. Was the clutch taking the brunt of it? Sorry I just delivered the only car that I had that could have given you the seals, to Ken Osage for racing .. say, Ken now has some spare, doesn't he?

Mark they may just want the glass not the seals ....so some black electrical tape on the edges and some metal tabs to hold it in place. Think outside the box !

What about laying a big silicon bead? It eliminates metal trim bits and you can smooth it out for better aero too!

good idea. im worried about it flying out. maybe the electrical tape and the fat bead of silicon. i want it to look somewhat stock, as to not attract too much attention that the car is more race than street.

I was thining of how to do the metal tabs without drilling any unsightly holes.
i also want something that i can remove and put back the way it was.

i guess if the bead of silicon is thick enough ,it should pull out in one piece, right?

thank

Thanks! actually, it was probably reallly easy on the clutch, as we didnt have to shift. however, we did notice that we had a 2nd gear after a few laps. shifting was not that hard , but strange sounding on the upshift, but tough to not grind on the downshift. (the transmission was real bad to start)

interesting when i ran many of the laps just in 4th, it was near as fast as the laps with the grindy 2nd. I only used 2nd for the exit of turn 11, so we were a sitting duck for most of the first part of the straight with the engine bogging, then at the exit of the andretti hair pin was not too bad, as there is a quick right after that turn that 4th gear didnt take too bad. after that, 4th wasnt too bad. sure made it easy on the driver

I am sort of considering this for my car on the street ... theoretically one can flush the window then too.

A tab of silicone and wide electric tape should be good enough.....but it would suck if one flew out and shattered all over the track

the holbert car had'em, but i pushed them out and installed the lexan windows
now they are silicon seal , glued in. and that stuff looks pretty tough. probably a guitar wire will free it up

According to your avatar pics.....(maybe you're not talking about THAT car).....the decals/stickers would have to go long before I'd worry about lexan replacement (to look more like stock than a race car).

I'm really confused now.....not that it takes much at this hour.
