I ran across a nice cable actuated unit at the HRR trade show last year. If you can figure out how to lobotomize the valve body so it will hold gear, I think it would work well. Have to dig out the guys card, we talked at length, and I played around with the demo unit quite a bit.

I don't see a paddle shifter in the future, but it would make an interesting option for a kickdown activation if a non-cheesy reasonably priced set of paddles could be set up.

I have thought about this I would love a paddle shift in the race car. To do it properly a dual clutch parallel shaft transmission would be required.
A sequential crash box would be fun too but both are expensive options. But set ups would be worth more than the average 928
