So are you still selling after the fix? At the same price? Someone better jump on this car.

Way to go!

How did you determine this? Did someone on the list give you a loaner? Did you bring it to a shop? Inquiring minds want to know...

Yes, still selling. I'm debating changing the price, but because I've already advertised it here... the price stays at $6k but for Rennlist members only (primarily because without this site, I'd be up sh*tcreek with this car). This price does not include a good ECU.

I don't have a good ECU to leave in the car. My brother may be able to get me a brand new Porsche ECU through his business. If anyone has a known good used one to offer, please let me know.

I have a very serious buyer already lined up, but if he falls through, there's a queue already forming... If he doesn't buy it, I'll probably replace the ECU myself and change the price accordingly.

You underpriced the car based on poor (pardon me by using that word) mechanical condition so at least in my book it would be fine to increase the price now its fixed.

I agree, but I've not actually fixed it, i.e. I don't have a good ECU to leave with the car. Again, if anyone has one to sell, please let me know...

I just sent you an e-mail listing sources for good ECUs. You gonna give credit to the guy who pointed you in the right direction?

Sorry! Thought I had! Yes, JHowell37 said "swap ECUs," and I did, and that solved the problem. For the record, I did send you a PM telling you that you are indeed "the man," and I stand by it.

Mike,

I have a Porsche-owner-coworker who is visiting his family in Gaithersburg at the beginning of November. If you still have the car by then, he has offered to drop by and check it out for me, if that's okay by you.

Mike, with the successfully diagnosed trouble, you can't really be held to a boat anchor price.

Get a good used ECU, and advertise it as a running 5-spd fixer-upper, at the price that it will attract.

Congrats on getting out of the garage!

Cheers,
Michael

The pool of buyers for these cars is small and therefore they need to be priced right in order to sell within a 30 to 60 day period. The only person who should advise an owner to increase the asking price of his car is someone who is ready to step up and peal off the extra bucks.
Price advisors are difficult to relocate after the seller increases his price and no one buys the car.
