Hi Roger,

Brick is a stone's throw from Mike (NJSharkFan). I'm about 30 minutes north of Mike.

What kind of help does he need?

Adam

Yeah, details please. I had no idea there was a 928er in Brick. That's my old stompin' grounds, the next town over.

PM sent.

Well, there is the Bailiwick of Jersey. An island in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy. Easy to confuse with "New" Jersey.

And of course a bit of history on New Jersey from Wikipedia:

"The State's name was taken from the largest of the English Channel Islands, Jersey."

And being from NJ, I'm glad to see the listers offering up the help. Very cool guys. -Ed

I joined for the technical/mechanical discussions but never realised there would be a Geographic lesson.

As an immigrant to North America I too get confused by what happens South of the Border. Then again, in Scotland, we have a wall seperating us from the brethern.

Roger my friend, perhaps a round trip would do the job.

The gentlemans name is Morgan Strong and he is haveing some electrical issues concerning the interior lights and the rear hatch. He also has a key issue but he is sorting that with our friends keys4classics in Australia.
Mike,
I will PM his phone number to you and I will also give him yours.
He is trying to log on the Rennlist and join the family.
Thanks for the support!.

I will be flying over Jersey tomorrow night on my way to jolly old England. Both Jersey in the States and Jersey in the Channel Islands. Well I should be able to see Jersey as I circle into Gatwick.
Thanks for the geography lesson. Tell me again what you did with our tea??? 8>)

Well, we did make one hell of a brew with that tea, but I seem to recall something about you guys burning our White House to the ground at one point...

I too would be interested to know of a 928 specialist shop in Central NJ. I have a 732 area code too and have just acquired an 88 that is currently undergoing some 'peace of mind' work (T-Belt, water pump and all that good stuff) as we speak. This is being done by a local shop that I trust, however there are some other issues with my shark that require specialist attention.

Cheers

Mark

Welcome. Hey everyone NJ is a hotbed of new shark acquisitions!
If you're trusting them with your 'peace of mind' issues, then they are your specialists.

What exit are you at?

I don't trust anyone with my car, but I bought it for the purpose of working on it, so that doesn't really count.

How about some more details? Some pics would be nice (from Morgan also!)

I would suggest Chuck Oliver at Specialty Cars in Mullica hill NJ. He's small (2 guys) but only works on
Porsches, Mercedes & Ferraris. He's a real 928 fan too! Since Iv'e known him he's had 3. Let me know if you need his number.

Let me put in another plug for Earl Gillstrom (rennlist user name: Earl Gillstrom).

He's a retired engineer, and is something of a 928 expert. He does work for 928 people as sort of a hobby/retirement income type of thing. His rates are extremely reasonable, his work is top notch, AND, he encourages you to work along side him.

Earl helped me prep my S4 that I bought in NJ for the drive home to Seattle. And he did it on basically 1 days notice.

He's in Glen Mills, PA, just outside of Philly.

Keep in mind that he is not running a business, so arranging a time to get down there, sourcing of parts, etc, is done in collaboration with him.

If you have a little flexibility, and want to learn how to work on your 928, I highly recommend Capt. Earl.

Here's some pics of us in action at Earl's place:

Hi Mike

Thanks for the warm welcome. I am off GSP 117a. Its really nice to know there is so much local support!
It was Nick who told me about this site actually and he also gave me some great pointers on what to get done first.

I also would like to have Ed'd details, because in a few months (long enough to have forgotten how much money i have just spent on the new acquisition), I want the other stuff doing and would be keen to learn how to work on it.

In terms of pictures, I do have some, however I have no clue how to upload them, as its asking for a URL???

Hi Mark,

Welcome - It's great to know that there's another 928 in Monmouth County! I'm in Freehold which is not that far from exit 117a.

Both Mike and I do our own "wrenching" on our 928's.

If I/we can be of any help just let us know.
