Default Norcal Caravan to Sharktoberfest

Anyone from Norcal interested in caravaning to Sharktoberfest? My calendar cleared up today and I will be making the trip. I was thinking of leaving Friday morning, so if this fits with anyone else's schedule let me know.

Yes. We need to pick a time and meeting point. There was a suggestion to head to dr bobs and finish the ride with the SoCal'ers. I sent dr. bob a PM about this.

Dave A. posted in another thread about leaving late Thursday or early Friday. If he goes Friday, we could meet him on the 580 corridor to I-5.

I saw Dave's post and thought he was going on Thursday night. I have no commitments on Friday, so I can leave any time

OK, dr. bob replied that we should be at his place by 3PM. Without grossly breaking the speed laws, we need to leave at 9:30. Konstantin will be driving his car. Maybe Dave will join us. Nicole is going elsewhere (San Diego), but maybe she will be driving down that day as well and can join us.

Brian? Anyone else?

We were thinking that a 3pm target leave time from here would give plenty of time for folks to make the ride with us (1.5-2 hrs possible in Friday afternoon traffic) with some time allowed to clean their cars and themselves at the hotel before the official reception starts. Get here a little earlier and you are welcome to use the wash/dry/clean facilities here before we go to Anaheim. Local lister Rolf will not be joining us for the ride down on Friday, but Larry M and Joe P are likely candidates. Dave A plans to come down late Thursday after work and do his clean-n-prep here Friday morning, last he told me.

Invite is open to all travelers, of course.

PM an e-mail address and I'll send local directions.

The PacNW contingent is leaving Thursday AM. If we were to join up with you guys Friday for the rest of the drive in, where should we be looking to spend Thursday night? I think we're shooting to get within a few hours of Anaheim.

I would say our drive to Dr. Bob's should be around 5 hours give or take. So depending on how much more distance you want to cover, I would say anywhere within and hour north of Sacramento. I have never done the drive north on 5, so I an not that familar with what is available in terms of accomidations. Maybe others with more knowledge can chime in on this.

If I can get off early from work, I will see Y'all at Dr Bob's. 3 works out just great. That is about half way for me, so sounds like a good pit stop. PM coming Dr.

Where would be a good place for the PacNW group to meet up with the NorCal group? In looking at mapquest, it looks like 580 connects to I-5 a little north of Patterson. Maybe meet for breakfast around there before heading south?

The Norcal group can meet along the 580 corridor...say at Johnson Ct., in Pleasanton at 9:00 sharp. It's at the Hopyard exit just beyond where 680 and 580 cross. You get off at Hopyard and make the first right, and then immediately another right in to Johnson court. I'll be near the entrance to the court. Here's a Google map:

IT'S JOHNSON COURT:

Then we can prodeed on and meet up with the PNW group in the Patterson area at 10am. Adam will give me more precise information of exactly where.

If the target is to make it to dr. bob's at 3 you better get up a bit earlier if you need to eat your Wheaties.
