Anyone Added Piston Oil Squirters?
I have read this:
https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...uirters&page=3
And this one:
https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ston+squirters
Has anyone acquired new info? Not what blocks have them, just what it takes to install them.

My question is why do you want these? What 928 engine failure could have been prevented by them?
Spraying oil directly on the rotating assembly has got to increase the windage/foaming/ejection problems.

I will be running boost on the stock internals, though I have invested in coatings, better EFI, etc, I would like to use the oil squirting to cool the pistons a bit. That will intern raise the threshhold for detonation. I have the crank scraper system (the full system) so I was hoping that would downgrade the additional windage issues the squirting would bring.

From what I understand, the oil squirters in theory would cool the pistons a little bit....BUT they also squirt oil directly into the moving crankshaft assembly which just adds oil to that huge frothing cloud of oil that spins around the crank in the 1st place..... granted your scraper with should help with that problem.....
If your serious, just find a low # 87 block.....I have one..but its in my 928!

I don't know about the spraying at the crankshaft idea - its supposed to spray up at an angle from where the mains reside, which would, IIRC, miss the crank fillets most of the time if not all.

Its funny that I called the guy that does my cylinder lapping down here, great guy, mike at motorworks, and he suggested I call 928intl. I just though it was funny.
Well, no luck down here. Rick - thanks for that PDF. Thats a DIY situation I am not sure I can do myself. I do LOTS of stuff, but screwing with my own block by the mains is something I don't know if I would want to do.
