Default Lexus 1UZ-FE Twin Turbo engine in 928 S4 Gemballa

From Aussie mag ZOOM, edition 94. I'll see if I can add the last page as the first 5 exceeded my quota.

Though I am not one to mismatch motors in cars of different makes , the 1UZ-FE is a fantastic platform for FI. 6 bolt main, forged steel crank, easy to work on, an easy 120k timing belt (though service interval is 90), just solid. But...I think anything other than a 928 motor takes away from the car as constantly working on the car is part of the fun.

Got rid of page 4, which just had a rear end photo of the Gemballa kitted S4 (two spoilers!!), with the text "Both manifolds include a 48mm Turbosmart external wastegate set at 0.5bar for daily use" across the page. Ow.. and I had posted it upside down originally!

This allowed me to upload page 6 which has a lot of info, as attached.

Enjoy! I think a 1UZ V8 with the individual throttle body setup available from NZ in a 944/968 chassis would scream!

Check yer wastegate. It may be stuck open.

Looks like the Toyota powerplant is shoved way back against the firewall.
Wonder what's the new F/R weight bias now.

Would love to see the underside of that engine bay. Headers routed forward to feed the turbos then 2 fat pipes back to the exhaust.

Wonder if the insides of the headlight buckets gets sing marks from the turbos.

I like it but the welds on the intake lid could be a little nicer.

I don't like rice on my frankfurters, and I don't like sauerkraut on my sushi.
You get the idea.
"troublesome 5 liter"? Isn't that part of the charm of our cars?

I don't get it! You only put original Porsche, Made in Germany, parts in your 928 and nothing else?

But that was back in '94 so maybe he did reached his goal. Would be nice to know what happened to it since.
